Can someone remind me what the cheapest (but easy) way to buy is?  I was thinking about setting up a $10 weekly buy with Coinbase, but then saw their fee is like 10%, and it would suck to start 10% in the hole. <_<

Your options are limited here in the US unless you go ninja mode.

You have coinbase or crypto.com is easy.

Drop it into Coinbase Pro, the transaction fees are smaller I think

Strike and river are both bitcoin only.

Strike doesn't have fees, but their spread is off which is how they get their fees. It's probably around 2% off.

Solana (SOL) continues it rise.

OCT 10...$21

OCT 31....$46

NOV 19...$56

DEC 10....$70

DEC 21....$88

Over 400 percent in 10 weeks.   Not bad.  Should have another 3 to 4x ride over the next year, maybe $260 to $300 range this time next year, slightly surpassing its previous high back in November 2021.

UPDATE:  a few hours later and it is now pushing $95.

Polkadot staking is a PITA. SOL I can set it and forget. Same with ETH. Running a node takes a little more work but staking DOT sucks.

I have been hyping SOL since the early 20's a few months ago.   It is sitting at over $96 at the moment.   I expect it to challenge $100 soon before some of the shorts force a pullback to the mid 80s.   I see this going to $300 by the end of next year.   SOL will take over ETH as the #2 crypto in the next few years.

No it won't. ETH systems are much further along than anything SOL has going on. Not to mention all the best programmers in the world are involved with ETH.

The thing eth has going for it is it was first. Also the SEC seems to think it's one of the only L1s not a security.

I sent $100 in USDT to my metamask wallet. The gas fees to swap would have cost me 30% sending it out of metamask cost me $8 in ETH. SOL cost me a penny. SOL other than being more centralized is way better.

That's kind of a big deal, considering that's why all of this exists in the first place

As far as transaction fees/speed ALGO would be the way to go.

Once ETH left POW for POS SOL and ETH became the same to me other than SOL has better tech. ALGO isn't fast when compared to SOL. ALGO is like 6k TPS, SOL is 46k TPS

ALGO will be at 46k TPS with block pipelining.

I'm not saying SOL is bad, but it is never taking the 2 spot from ETH, it's not going to happen.

Maybe but it's not right now. SOL might not take the #2 spot but I see it following the same trajectory of ETH.

Never fall in love with your bags.

I think the next time it tried to pass $110, it will pullback to $100.  The current price around $109 is good.

Sold.

Good price.   Profit taking has brought it back to $109.  I expect it to hover around the low one hundreds for a week or so before taking a run over $120.   I am holding.  I want to see new highs ($260 plus) in the next 3-4 months.

I would guess the safest way to get I  on crypto gains would be coinbase stock which is up over 400 percent this year.

This is how I plan to go about it. Invest in a company that has an underlying business of its own, but is also betting big on bitcoin.

Liquidated on everything other than my BTC long.

At least you're earning something on the cash from the liquidation. November 2021, the ADB in my fidelity cash reserves was 128K, earned $1.05 in dividends.

Last month the ADB was approximately 22K & I earned $92.98

I'm gambling 10-20x leveraged longs so I'm not making cash. That being said I started with $200 and built up to a couple thousand. I've taken out far more than I put in so all of this is house money.

Also this is less than 1% of my crypto holdings. I posted what I'm holding and earning on interest a couple of pages back.
