That wasn't a fight; that was people trying to score points by hitting each other with puffy gloves and Mayweather turtling when he didn't like how it was going. Those two meet on the street, McGregor wins 99% of the time. I'll give Mayweather a 1% puncher's chance. Winner #1 Mayweather pockets over 200M. Winner #2 McGregor pockets 100M. Loser #1 MMA. Now that Mcgregor realizes that he can make 9 figures per fight to box, MMA has to up their ante to him. Those who care who can actually win the street fight don't even make the list. He can get 9 figures in a Mayweather rematch, and possibly against Pacquio. But other than those two, I don't see McGregor bringing in that many viewers against any other boxer. I could see them trying a McGregor/Malignaggi fight considering what happened before this fight between them, but if McGregor keeps losing high profile fights will dry up pretty quick. You mean to tell me a guy who is trained in all forms of martial arts and in some cases just plain being a "street fighter" would beat a guy who is in really good shape but has spent his whole life mastering the art of boxing (foot movement, wearing gloves, hands up etc) if they met in a dark alley??? NO.... WAY.... Thats like saying Brock Lesnar would beat up any random NFL lineman if they met on the street I agree that MMA came out huge winners but where I disagree with Jerry, and I don't know if its because hes an MMA fan, a McGregor fan or what but everything I saw of that fight from round 4 until its conclusion was Connor getting his ass handed to him and wrapping Floyd up every time so the ref had to separate them and buy Connor a few seconds to breathe / try to make it to the bell. but then again, MMA had no way to really "lose" with this fight. If Connor got his ass beat, it was supposed to happen, if Connor lasted as long as he did, its "look what Connor did against one of the best boxers ever... and in the end they can always say "it's not the Octagon". edjr 6,998 Posted September 5, 2017 Just watched the fight, which was on Showtime this weekend ( if you paid for that ) Not sure what most people were watching but McGregror was NEVER, in that fight, ever.
