Suicide machine w/ detachable coffin - press a button - dead

Australia’s best-known euthanasia activist, Dr Philip Nitschke, is back in the news with another machine for committing suicide, the Sarco capsule.
The machine will allow anyone who has the access key to end their life by simply pressing a button. Developed in the Netherlands by Nitschke and an engineer, the machine can be 3D printed and assembled in any location. Access to the Sarco capsule will be by an on-line mental questionnaire which will provide a four-digit access code.
When the person lies in the capsule, he can activate it and liquid nitrogen will rapidly drop the oxygen level, leading to death a few minutes.
The novel feature is that the capsule can be detached from the Sarco machine and used as a sleek and shiny coffin. The machine base can be re-used.
Design criteria for the Sarco will be free, made open-source, and placed on the internet. Nitschke says that the world is now one step closer to the goal where any rational person can electively end their life in a peaceful and reliable way at the time of their choosing. “Sarco does not use any restricted drugs, or require any special expertise such as the insertion of an intravenous needle. Anyone who can pass the entry test, can enter the machine and legally end their life”.

I don't see a problem with this.

What happens when people want to start killing themselves for simply feeling like a burden to their families but have no mental or physical disabilities? These countries that have legal euthanization keep on extending what qualifies someone to get "Assisted Suicide".

Think about it. Take a young 20 something year old. He has no mental health issues or no physically disabilities. He feels like a burden to his family, his friends (even if it is all in his head) and he has the option to get assisted suicide. The can of worms that is opening is something I don't ever want to see in the US.

Is there some rule or law I'm not aware of, that stops people from committing suicide now?

This makes it much less messy.

There is an entry test.

They must have cut this part out for space reasons. However, for people not wishing to consume any more resources as possible there is a very convenient cremation option. Users need only stop by their local grocery store and rent a tank from Blue Rhino or other similar propane dealers.

Huh.

Are the same people in support of this creepy Kevorkian stupidity the same ones who rail against anyone who bullies/taunts/torments a kid who then ends up committing suicide?

That's a 'test' too, no?

It would make the gun deaths drop significantly in the US

Guns will still be an easier option. Who wants to sit around and take an internet questionnaire, when you can just grab a gat from dads closet? Not this guy!

Bingo. I was gonna say the same thing. Someone can do it regardless. Maybe this machine will be marketed toward dummies who can't figure out on their own another method.

But this will give gocolts something to make with his new 3D printer.

I don't know any kids from the Orient, so I don't have any thoughts on Euthanasia.
