Hey I didn't "deem participants" - I organized these from the start and if you notice or remember I never wanted to leave anyone out. I wanted it to be for everyone and even took in posters that I had no idea who they were.

 

That said yeah, I expected her to actually post herself but is it really a big deal ? Jeez what would of happened if Volty's real mom would of had MDCs team ?

Both Volty and TEK took the time to host these drafts (as did others) - they deserve a little leeway.

I've been silent on this conversation.

 

I had tepidly agreed with jerry in the other thread but didn't care so much to make more than that single post on it. I had only been considering having my mother advise me for my team, wondering if I wanted her to see this hole and the scumbag friends I keep. Under normal conditions I'd never want my mom up in here. This place scares away grown men, let alone 72 y/o ladies. I was leaning heavily towards 'no' and not bringing it up with her. And I still agreed with jerry slightly. When my mom was offered a team, and this wasn't my idea and I wouldn't have asked, I didn't say 'no.'

 

Anyway, at that point I was glad TEK was thinking of her. So instead, I flipped to 'yes' and did what I could to get her onboard as I was grateful she was offered an in. I was concerned at how much she'd be posting. I'd worried it would be a TEK's Bunny type situation.

 

Then my sister took a while, had some questions for me... ugh... so I saw this was going nowhere.

 

But even though it didn't go anywhere. It did motivate me to write her/my sister and my brother a long, (and long overdue) email. And thanks to TEK for thinking of her. Although I was hesitant, I wasn't exactly dragged in.

Drafting a Beatles song is like drafting QBs. After the first few elite fall off the board you might as well wait til the later rounds and get a low end starter on discount, maybe follow that with a backup.

My thinking was similar. But you risk the gates being opened, like TEK with Jimi and the Beatles flood occuring and the only safe spot in the flood being a yellow submarine.

 

I would have taken Paint It Black or Proud Mary in the 3rd round if I'd not had CCR and Rolling Stones already on board. I like both those songs better than what I took. But I still focking hate the idea of taking more than one song from an artist although it seems I'm the only one that b*tches about this.

You know today was two for Tuesday and they played Born to be Wild then Magic Carpet Ride and as I was driving and I was thinking MCR might even me a better song.

 

Although BTBW is the standard.

I feel like these drafts are more about the best songs rather than trying to make sure all artists are represented and each roster is diverse.

Paint it black was #2 on the list I sent to TEK last night.

 

I considered in my life instead of while my guitar gently weeps, but given my roster as it sits, I chose the more rock Beatles song.

 

Crimson and clover was a great pick. I forgot about that one.

 

On the TEK gf thing, I too was hoping for more interaction. Thought we may get a new geekette out of the thing. But its whatever, we are almost halfway through, let it go.
