The 144th Running of the Kentucky Derby

Justify looks to be real deal.

Baffert just said "I rank him up there with my top one" (this is likely referring to American Pharoah, possibly Point Given)

Justify reminds me of Point Given---he is a ginormous thoroughbred.

Why is Bob Baffert wearing a $1 poncho? Why doesn't he just wear a $1000 raincoat and throw it in the trash?

I plunked a few bucks on that nag. Started out ok. I enjoyed your analysis though, I hope you do it for the rest of the triple crown.

Did anyone see Johnny Weir during the KD? I mean please, just enough is enough. I'm not a homophobe or anything but good grief, you're ruining the telecast

The Sport of Kings knighted a new millionaire.

A Texas woman won $1.2 million on an $18 'Pick 5' bet that included Kentucky Derby winnner Justify.

The Austin Statesman reported on Sunday that the woman, who was not identified but posed for a picture, will be taking home about the same amount as the owners of the race’s winner. Justify's team reportedly made $1.4 million.

Other than being rode hard and put up wet?

Up til Pharoah won it, there were plenty of articles and conversation about "What can be done to make the TC easier" etc. They talked about how horses aren't bred for 3 races in 5 weeks, the fresh horses are a menace to the Belmont, etc.

If Justify wins it this year...will there be talk about it being to easy of a feat? lol
