They were absolutely trying to set up some 2nd quarter big plays off his run action in the first.  They'll come back to him in the 2nd half.

They showed the Packers that same action 4 times and then tried running play action off of it, but it didn't work.  Then the line doesn't hold up.  Then Trubisky throws an errant pass.  Next thing you know they have 25 plays for the whole half.  Montgomery touched the ball on 20% of them.
