A department store in Japan is reportedly "rethinking" a new policy of having female employees wear a badge with a cartoon character dubbed “Miss Period” that signifies they're menstruating.

The Daimaru department store in Osaka introduced the voluntary badges in October following an employee's suggestion, BBC News reported.

 

"It was never the intention to share the menstrual information with their customers," Daimaru spokesperson Yoko Higuchi told the BBC.

Higuchi said the so-called "period badges" were supposed to create empathy among coworkers, including allowing longer breaks and extra help for employees on their period.

Does Japan have the same tranny problem as here in the US?  As ill advised as this was, I'm sure someone would sue because they are a "woman" yet can't menstruate so this would be discrimination in some focked up bizarro way.

This is one of the most focked up topics I've ever come across in my wanderings on the unsavory side of the internet. Apparently they use sandpaper on their nipples, wear tampons in their ass hole, things like that to "experience menstruation."

If anything I've always felt women should get one sick day a month due to our periods. Sadly, we have to pretend we're okay all while taking pills and stuffing ourselves with paper. It's really ridiculous that we've never come together as a group to demand the right to rest on our first day of our period instead of risking accidentally bleeding all over ourselves. We spend so much time trying to prove we're the same, when in fact we're quite different. We get a little maternity leave, why not get a little period leave?

I'm sure those in the office that have to deal with you support this also. Make it mandatory stay home.

When I left my last job I had 6 months of sick leave. I don't use sick time. I am pretty healthy and wouldn't take off for having my period. I wouldn't want anyone to have to do my work or be inconvenienced while I was out. However, I wish it was our culture to allow for such things.
