wiffleball 4,640 Posted April 9, 2020 Anybody ever use this stuff before? I have a long-standing chronic cough. Never smoked. These days, that cough is enough to get me shot. Been treated for acid reflux, gerd, asthma, allergies, you name it. Gut feel? Cardiothorasic. The only thing that's ever work against it is hydrocodone. Seriously, look it up. It's actually an effective treatment for kennel cough too. But, years ago after several months on it, I took myself off. This was long before anybody ever heard of the opioid crisis. And now i can't get a prescription for it at gunpoint. Even my doctor admits that is likely the best short-term treatment. But their office will not prescribe it for any reason. Classic American overreaction; Pass it out like candy for a decade and then withhold it from people who actually need it when the s*** hits the fan. Anywho, anybody have any luck with this stuff? Yes. Miracle drug. Wife was prescribed 100mg with flu symptoms months ago and when this first happened I had a cough. Work sent me home. No fever. wiffleball 4,640 Posted May 20, 2020 Yeah, so two-week quarantine and a negative covid-19 later. Benzos didn't work for s***. Just saw the doctor again today. X-rays showed nothing. But apparently thats enough to rule out gunshots hatchet wounds and bow and arrow injury. Everything else is on the table. I mean I am literally being tested for legionnaires disease (for extreme example). Tons of blood work, ENT, pft, I'm surprised they haven't checked my uterus. So far, all they've got is an unlimited supply of codiene. Which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Next up? Hydrocodone. Again, something I'm trying to avoid. One of them put it well today. 99% of their (specialists) clients are idiot smokers just dealing with the consequences. I've never smoked and everybody's all excited to find an answer. Woo, hoo? It didn't hurt that I coughed up a lung in the waiting room. Scared the s*** out of everybody there. And suddenly I was rushed into the farthest office.
