First LGBT+ White House communications director in history? If so, then that is newsworthy and worth mentioning.

Quick, name the person he replaced. You can’t.  Not newsworthy, not worth mentioning. Definitely not worth Biden having a press conference about it and then refusing to answer questions of importance to the country.  What’s more important?

The name of every White House press secretary is newsworthy. He is replacing Karine Jean-Pierre, and I do happen to know her name because she was a political analyst for NBC and MSNBC for several years before taking that position.,

How can he be the first if he is replacing Karine the first diversity hire?

He’s not replacing her. He’s going to be the director, not the spokesperson.   Behind the scenes. Wow.

doesn't seem to matter about qualifications.   they have to check the box & we all know what that means.

black, gay, tranny=perfect.

diversity rules-the hell with competency.

KJP isn’t the director.  She’s the spokesperson. The new guy is the director.

Man you and Roger Dodger are like the tag team of dimwits. Do the two of you have anything to post other than “stupid” or “idiot” or “retarded”? You make Beavis and Butthead look like Rhodes scholars.

You said he was replacing KJP. He’s not. You don’t know who he’s replacing, making it not newsworthy.  HTH

So Biden announced it on a whim for fun. Got it. Thanks.

He announced it because he’s gay. If he wasn’t gay or a member of some other designated group he wouldn’t have.

Probably because if he were a white straight guy it would not have been novel, different or historic.

Gay people getting jobs no one knows about is historic now? Well then we ought to have a press conference every time a gay person gets a job. Might take up a lot of the day.

First woman, black, or Latino to ever hold a government or political position is still considered historic and newsworthy, so should the first LGBTQ person.

Well, it might be better if you knew who and what position was being replaced. Ya didn’t, but you still mouthed off as if you did. Try and avoid that in the future.

Nah. I don’t roll that way. But it’s interesting that you’re thinking about it.

I don’t judge. Nor do I care. I just don’t see gay as a qualification or something to be celebrated

😂 no it shouldn’t. When a president has been black and a vp has been a woman. It doesn’t matter if dog catcher is the first Phag

The reason it needs to be celebrated is because they have suffered so much bigotry over the years, and some of it is still present even today, as this forum has very much demonstrated.

It matters. It will continue to matter for years to come. One black President and 44 white ones? I think we need a few more black ones, and some women, a gay President, an atheist, a Jew, a Muslim.

Maybe someday we’ll even have a trans President. When that happens we will know that we’ve truly achieved mature adulthood as a nation.

The Chinese will have conquered us before that point.  While we are worried about checking all the diversity boxes, they are continuing their plans to surpass us and testing our resolve along the way.  The Taiwanese should be scared to death.

Let me be clear, if the guy was the best person for the job, no issue with him being gay.  But it seems every position in this administration is to check a diversity box.  It seems to have little to do with merit.

FWIW I do think this is true. The vast majority of you are not bigots, not racists, you simply believe in the same system for everyone. That’s fair, and in a perfect world it’s the only reasonable approach.

But we don’t live in a perfect world. And you refuse to acknowledge that the playing field is not even.

So you think that because of the past people should just get things based on identity

the playing field is even. That’s why they have to they have to lie about the wage gap and sh1t like that. So people like you keep running with the nonsense
