Bland.

Don't know much about him.

But he has a Jay Haas swing about him - a more powerful version of it.

If Bland manages to hang on, it would be the single greatest major victory since last month.

Rahm, Louie, Bubba, Wolff, Xander - 2 of those fockers better step up and make a charge.

If it's Brand/Henley in the final group 2moro - it will challenge for most uneventful US Open ever.

Korda has got some rainbow Guide stuck in her yoga pants.  why not give that to her caddy?  I'm guessing, she likes the snatch.

We were close to having DeChambeau/Brooks be paired 2gether today.

Shame didn't happen - this championship could have used the excitement boost.

23 players under par, including dudes named Fabian, Hayden, Bland and Taylor Montgomery - can we axe Torrey Pines from the rotation already?

Throw TP in the mix with Erin Hills and Olympia Fields as venues that don't need to be hosting US Opens.

This didn’t age that well.

Not really.

US Opens are always going to play harder on the weekends.. That being said, we're still being led by a Henley and Hughes - there were Suns/Nuggets playoff games more exciting.

As far as site, TP is falling on her face - about as blah a venue as I can remember. Thank Gawd Rory and DeShamblow have made a move - this championship desperately needs them.

What a finish, what a win!

Although this Open will still rank measurably low on the history scale, Sunday did provide enuff excitement to at least make the final round watchable.

The DeShamblow haters are gonna sleep well 2nite - what an implosion!

I wonder if they will address the fact that the players were hitting the ball outside the rough areas to the trampled down areas on purpose.

There were 156 in the field, how many of them actually did this?

I don't have the numbers, but I'm guessing the analytics would play out that attempting this is far more risky than playing the holes as designed. Only a small handful of guys have that kind of power anyway - of those, even smaller have the wackiness to try.

Torrey Pines US Opens:

2008: 3 players finished at or under par.

2021: 14 players finished at or under par.

Seems like they figured it out in the 4th round. Rahm and Decahmbeau. I believe McIlroy noticed they were doing it as well. So yeah, the guys that hit it long way. They didn't start out doing it in the 1st round but once the grass was trampled down sufficiently by the crowds, they were aiming that way vs down the fairway. With the penalty area down the left side, it was the smart move.

I said going in that Torrey Pines doesnt get my rocks off.  We see it each year.  A different version but we see it each year.  Great views off the cliffs but up onto the course it is pretty bland.  I like new venues or venues that dont happen a lot.  I like a few of the staples but lets not make TP one of them.

Merion was my favorite but they will never be back.  I believe Merion is hosting something not PGA this year however.

I thought it was an okay tournament.  4th round was decent but could have been much better.

Another snoozer of a golf major.  Boring!  None of these players have any character at all.  And outside of Rahm hitting birdies on 17 and 18, it was an utter display of choking on Sunday.

Lame all around.
