I do focus on the biggest variances. I like to stay away from the big name schools as there is a lot of focus and probably a lot more action in the books for those games. Just guessing.

I like to stay away from the spreads unless there is a glaring variance. Like by 5 or 6 points. Maybe 4. Never less than that. I'll just quickly pass without thinking about it.

For game totals, I tend to like when this guy's difference from the book is under the total. General public gamblers are known to like the over. But that said, if he is like 4+ points over the total than in the book, then I'll run with that too. 

I don't take the time to go through every game on the docket because I'm trying to narrow down what I want to play and I am betting each game between $25 and $65 to this point and since I only set aside $200 for this venture I run out quick. Now that I'm up to about $498, I want to see if I can keep the amount of games I play to 5-8 each day. I think that is a decent number. I don't feel the need to jump on this 100% across the board. 

 This could all go south quick, but I realize that it's gambling and there are no sure ways. I'm basically just gambling on this one guy. A friend and I used to do that when playing the horses. We would follow skilled handicappers and gamble on their bets. But with horses, good luck. Just drink and enjoy the ride. Hopefully you walk away with a few bucks and a buzz.

Not a great day but was still $19.10 above water on the day. My Rhode Island bet amount was a mistake. I ended up betting it twice for $45 each as I stepped away and forgot I bet it already. So I just counted that as 1 bet at $90. I should have been up another $45 on the total. Still a loss though. Making mistakes count too with actual money. 

So, I'm convinced enough to keep going with this experiment. At least for another day...

I like Strickland to win.  Not sure I am anywhere as close to as confident as you.  Jack doesn't have great wrestling.   But ig they rnd up on the ground he is very aggressive and dangerous with the subs.  I do think Strickland keeps it standing and punches his face off though.

Some of his numbers are very close to the numbers in my book. I simply bypass. When the number starts getting into the 4-5+ range, then I am more likely to be willing to jump onboard with what he has. Down at the bottom of his sheet, where he puts his examples, He says something like,

I think the spread on one game in my book showed Marist -1 at Manhattan. Peterson had Manhattan as the favorite at -4 if I remember correctly.

That's the game I at first screwed up but then went back and placed a second bet to cover it because I don't really have a way to cancel my bets after I submit them.  

I play mostly o/u though. I usually notice wider variances on the game totals. So if he has set a game total of 145, and the book shows like 137, I'll jump on the over.  If the book had it at 147 instead of 137, I'll pass on it. Too close. For game totals, I like 4 or more because that is more then just one shot in the game. 

But honestly that's about it really. I might be able to do better if I were to put more time into it. But there's no guarantee of that even. 

So in 6 days, I had 4 winning days, and 2 losing days. Luckily the second losing day was only $3. 

I'm going going to start taking some money out of my book to make sure I guarantee at least some winnings. Also got lucky yesterday in football winning big on Cincinnati over KC. But that's not counted with this total. $70 at +285. So maybe I'm just having a lucky streak or something. Those don't hold up forever.

Interesting. That's a smarter approach than me most likely. Let me see if I bet Morehead. My Morehead St. bet today is under 138. 

I think I have 8 bets today. I hope I don't get beat up today on these as I upped the bet amounts about an additional $10 each bet. Thinking about it now, I wish I had made smaller bets on the ones I chose. Oh well, no matter what I'll be in the positive since I pulled a few hundred out today.

Week 1 overall using Greg Peterson's card.  

If I were to have done this the right way I should have reviewed all my wins and losses to see if I could find any trends. But I didn't really have the time to do all that.

Either way I'm up because of 2 very good days and 1 pretty good day and zero terrible days. I think the most I lost in one day all week was like $30. And 1 day I lost $3. Two other days I won about $20 each.  

What complicates things to try to see any trends is that I didn't bet equally on all my picks, so, going 4-4 and being up $19 would not have happened if I bet the same amount across the games. I would have been down about $40.  

So, after 1 week of this, I don't know what to make of it other than I had no terrible days out of 7.  That's about it. 

I don't post my picks before the games because, well, I don't even trust my own bets. I don't follow basketball and know nothing about it at any level.

I listened to the podcast today while browsing 5 different books. Hopefully it's advantageous. The books had caught up with some of the larger discrepancy games on Greg's cheatsheet so the edge may not be there a few hours later. I also pick up little tidbits like his lean on Davidson/St Bonaventure.  SB is basically playing with 5 guys and no bench and there's a definite mismatch with Davidsons strength of 3s and SBs weakness in defending 3s. Davidson is 5th in 3pt % and SB is 277th defending the 3.

I listened to the podcast today while browsing 5 different books. Hopefully it's advantageous. The books had caught up with some of the larger discrepancy games on Greg's cheatsheet so the edge may not be there a few hours later. I also pick up little tidbits like his lean on Davidson/St Bonaventure.  SB is basically playing with 5 guys and no bench and there's a definite mismatch with Davidsons strength of 3s and SBs weakness in defending 3s. Davidson is 5th in 3pt % and SB is 277th defending the 3.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6-3 here plus a few added NBA props, a parlay, and Nevada under TT 1H and I'll  be 11-5.   prob gonna lose Nev under 139.  I got too excited when they had 18 pts with 3 mins to go and thought the total game would be a good live bet.  Oh well.

The A&M first half was a play from Twitter, not Greg's play.  And the St John's ML was me trying to be cute and be a wise guy and fade Providence coming off big Marquette win.  So the only bad play of Greg's was Miami OH +1.

Went 5-4 up  $44.98 on the day.

Been squeaking out these wins. I'll take it I guess. A little too close though for me to feel any confidence at this point. But, onward and forward!! Let's see how tomorrow pans out.
