What I am curious about with you guys being in legal wagering states is the taxes. I have not paid a dime in taxes over last decade and a half and should certainly be in prison.

1. Are these like stocks in that you don't have to pay until you cash out?

2. Are the books going to fock you on these free bets they give you and they will show up on your end as income?

My site will send you a $500 check if you request it. Being in PA. I don't think they tax you as long as your winnings are under $600.

Good questions.  I think it’s $600 like BHB said.  Great question on the free bets, I dunno, probably.  This is a learning year, and we aren’t betting a lot anyway.  I presume we’ll get some EOY tax statements and find out.  I’ll certainly let you know.

I don’t quite get your cash out question.

By cash out I mean - you keep the money in your account and keep betting = not tax implications yet.

You cash out and have the book send you a check. Now that you’ve “sold the stock” you must pay on the winnings/profit

I'm debating of becoming a full time Black Jack player.

I don't lose, and trust me I fully realize how weird that sounds and how that is bad karma.  'tis true though.  And yes I know BJ is the simplest of games....thats why its the easiest house game.

  1.  You must play by the book

2.  You gotta have a deep bankroll

3.  The key is the betting amount strategy.  Firing on runs, reading the the cards of the table (other players), and doubling down / splitting at all times when the odds switch.

I would be interested in hearing your strategy. I’ve never messed with it bc everything I’ve ever read said even is you play perfect you’re always at a minimum 3% disadvantage to the house.

What plays did you go with for the free bets?

Definitely get Wake at 4.5 tonight. It will likely go down by tomorrow.

This could be a trap game and you know I hate sides/totals, but this would be my blow out winner for tomorrow. Clemson can’t score on a high school team. I don’t get how they are favored. I know Wake’s defense sucks, but still.

Justyn Ross is hurt too. He will likely play, but won’t be 100%. That hurts an already crappy Clemson offense.

They actually did a good analysis of this game on the Bet the Board podcast yesterday.  It scared me off of WF. It's at 46:00

I don’t have enough info on CBB to be looking at totals yet. That’s a business I don’t usually walk-in to until February

Gotcha.  Another good question.  My guess is that the tax man will want his pound of flesh independent of moving the money out, but I don't know.

I like this for tomorrow as well and also like SMU with the points and Cinci can't cover the points the last 3 weeks. Why cause their D is not good. Heck wouldn't surprise me if that is the upset of the week and SMU out right wins the game.

I think if you just cash out now and then under the state limit to be tax most are probably good doing that. I'm like you and not betting a ton so not worried about it. I also think there is nothing to worry about the free bet money the sites give you cause you aren't allowed to cash that out anyways on the sites.

Thoughts on Dallas game? I know this line is based on the thought that the "Chiefs are back" after beating up on the Raiders. All I've been reading this week, though, is that the Raiders didn't follow the blueprint on defense that had slowed the Chiefs in the previous weeks. The public looks to be about 50-50 on this game.  I really want to lean Dallas here.
