Read through the thread this morning. Yes there are problems with it all, but overall this story feels like it ended up less than what people were hoping for. I don't see either how people on the left or the right can declare this a win.

Also, it seems like from the thread that Taibbi posted that the reason the pictures were taken down was the nudity involved- which would be against Twitter standards. Also, it seems like the requests from the Biden team came in October of 2020- which he would've still been a private citizen at that point and not an elected government official. So in reality this is an issue between two private parties. That's not a crime. It's shady, it's underhanded, but not a crime nor a free speech violation. And honestly- if you want to open that can of worms then you have to acknowledge that the Trump White House requested things be removed while in power. That's problematic. Again- I don't know the criminality of it, but it's shady.

But I guess we got transparency of what some Twitter higher ups did....good I suppose. Now I guess we can just burn Twitter to the ground. That's be good too.

No the claim from the beginning has been twitter can do whatever they want.  If the government is involved it gets murkier, but can’t imagine it’s a crime for the government to report porn on twitter

Yes, there is evidence that government officials (on both sides) reported content that they wanted twitter to moderate.  I have not seen evidence that that content should have actually been allowed.

Interestingly, unless I missed it, the thread does not share evidence that the NY Post article was one of those pieces of content.    The leaked emails all appear to be among internal twitter employees.   The “concerned” Dem does email about it, but that was AFTER people starting getting riled up about the warnings for sharing the link.   It appears twitter made that decision on their own, and thus as Elon himself says, would not violate the first amendment.

Happy to have some “spirited, intelligent discussion” about this point.

You mean when Trump was President?  Regardless, is there evidence that the government was involved in censoring tweets that didn’t violate twitter policies? Alex Berenson probably has the best argument for that, but then there wouldn’t be the “election interference” angle.

The TOS clearly says the photos can’t be shared without the person’s consent.  You might be thinking of a law or something, and not twitter’s policies.

Also, the specific photos referenced did not have a sensitive content warning, also per the TOS.

So in the last 24 hours we've learned that:

1.) Some Twitter higherups removed stuff from the Hunter laptop story (mainly d!ck pics posted without his consent)

2.) The Biden team asked for things to be removed, so did the Trump team. But it does seem from the perhaps one-sided evidence the Democrats did it more. 

3.) Dorsey had no idea what was happened (allegedly) and said he would've done things differently could he go back.
