Anyone watched this yet? Heard it’s the best or second best out of the entire Predator series. Dad watched it last night and absolutely loved it.

I watched it Friday and really liked it. I rank it close to the first two. I watched the second one right after the watched Prey. Pretty sweet they have all the movies on there right now.  I think the first two and Prey are by far the best though.

Did you notice the throwback to the second movie at the end of Prey?

Yes! I told my dad to watch that careful and see if he recognized it. He didn’t but then again he’s gonna he 80 this year and it’s been a while since he saw the second movie

I didn’t recognize it until I watched the second movie right after. Completely forgot. Was a great addition.

I watched 1 & 2 a few months ago so it was still somewhat fresh in my mind. Had to send my dad a video to show him it. But he loved it. It got so many good reviews even despite the woke “I’m a girl and I can hunt just as good as the men” rhetoric they kept trying to use

I was really surprised at the overall good reviews. Rarely do the critics and fans agree.

Same. When I saw 93% on rotten tomatoes I was like “oh God it’s going to be some woke snoozefest” but then people started talking about how amazing it was so I had to watch. I trust the audience more than I do ANY critic.

I didn’t think it was woke by any means. I’m sure some with disagree just because a woman was the main character. I really enjoyed the ending in this one.

No it wasn’t which surprised me. The trailer seemed to be heavy on the feminism front but it felt like the older movies where they had female lead characters that people actually liked. Knocked it out the park with this film

Oh yes he definitely has issues. I’m not sure what I even did to warrant a ban until today. But I know for a fact he went and whined to Mike since someone reported him and then went on a reporting spree with his alias. But whatever. Guy wants to be a man child let him. I got much bigger things to worry about now

I'm sorry, I just watched a big old clip on it. Including the ending & best scenes. I'll try to find that clip again. I'm sorry, I just have a hard time believing that a small army of the world's toughest soldiers armed with mini guns somehow got  ass kicked, but not a bunch of speer chuckers and Canadian fur trappers.

 

Just for context, these are the same people that got terrified by lightning put somehow figured out laser sighting devices.

Note. Lots of action. Which is cool. And it's not like it's a documentary. But every movie involves some level of suspension of disbelief. The question is how much are you willing to suspend.

I like it.  The only part I had trouble accepting was that Indians apparently knew martial arts and were also ninjas.

In the predator universe...they are a warrior caste.  They try to raise their social standing up with trophys and big opponents.  Tougher the better.  Rite of passage to be dropped off on a planet to hunt and defeat whatever is there.  No mention of smarts lol.

I am a big Predator fan (the original) and I really liked this one. I am not a big fan of Predator 2, Alien vs Predator, etc. But this one I really liked and thought it was a great "prequel." 

I didn't think it was "woke" because they used a female lead or Native Americans.
