Really surprised at Jeff Van Gundy

Same here. One of my favorite announcers in any sport. Not sure who he p!ssed off.  Mark Jackson leaves Nikola Jokic off his MVP list but gets to stay.

Can't imagine Kolber will be unemployed for long - NFL Network or Fox will scoop her up.

Suzy can definitely find a "job" at Joe Namath's house.

I don't know what it is, but there is something about her that makes me want to kiss her as well.

Jason Fitz was another blowhard that went out of his way with white guilt.

Max Kellerman fits the white guilt profile to a T,  he checks all the boxes, and he uses it to get ahead. It’s his schtick. So phony.  You gotta love how people use it and then get rewarded for it.

He's like every other racist Liberal. He goes out of his way to convince everyone that he's not a racist and panders to the Woke culture for personal gain.

Like most other liberals, he's a fraud.

Yup. Rich kid, Ivy League, other factors. Now he lectures working stiffs for a living that want to hear about sports.

ESPN had writers and producers who decided on the tone and shape of the content.

Kellerman didn't have the power to say "No" to the kind of scripts he was given. Stephen A Smith did, which is why you often seeing SAS taking mostly "centrist" takes on things. Zach Lowe had a pretty extensive background from Grantland and was seen as a type of "prestige sports" kind of analyst. Much in the vein of something like The Ringer right now.

Someone like Wojnarowski is seen as a valuable insider. He had the power to not get in the middle of stuff like that.

Kellerman really had no niche. He wasn't giving a medical angle, a legal angle, a former player or coaches angle and he wasn't an analytics guy or a true "insider" He had nothing to offer other than being the mouthpiece for the producers and writers and corporate interests who needed someone who could not say "No"

It's unfortunate that "Playmakers" was cancelled because the NFL wanted it gone. ESPN probably could have had some real traction with original scripted content based around the sports world. That and family friendly "reality shows" like an American Gladiators or American Ninja Warrior, but with retired NFL/NBA/MLB guys, etc, etc.

ESPN ruined their product. When a football crazy country stops tuning into the non live action programming of that sport that should have told them something. Nobody watches their Sunday morning pre game or Monday night pre game anymore.  The shows suck and have jerk offs on them.

Mark Jackson sent packing.  The new ESPN NBA top dogs in the booth are Mike Breen, Doris Burke and probably Doc Rivers.  Yikes

Not a fan but there's no doubt she's paid her dues.

Yeah, she's been around a long time.  I think all the ladies who work the women's college games are really good, Burke, Rowe, Rebecca Lobo, Leiberman, etc.

Mark Jackson is an absolutely terrible announcer.  I can see why he failed as a coach.

Think of all the greats we had the luxury growing up listening to. In all sports.

I think the downturn started with Joe Morgan being hired.
