The City of West Hollywood voted last year to reduce the number of L.A. County Sheriffs they contract to use from 63 to 59 (that's just a reduction of only 4 officers). They added something like 20+ two person teams called community or safety ambassadors who are assigned to certain blocks to monitor what is going on. However, these ambassadors are unarmed and are not authorized to make arrests, use force or intervene in violent assaults, such as what is seen here. Just terrible all around. I know a guy. He owns a medical billing business that wasn’t in any danger of losing employees or business. He was actually looking for help during Covid.
