Cloaca du jour 2,147 Posted May 30, 2023 Only 5 kids had the credits. They tried to notify parents months ago Had special meetings for parents Did what they could...to no avail. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/texas-high-school-graduation-moved-requirements-five-students-able-to-graduate/
Mike Honcho 5,129 Posted May 30, 2023 I ran across that story last week and chuckled.
easilyscan 870 Posted May 30, 2023 Pretty sure MINNY-SODA lowered graduation requirements over the years, to avoid situations like this. That might shine a negative light on the teachers union (something they'd never allow)
TBayXXXVII 2,488 Posted May 30, 2023 I'm going to assume the school district is made up of predominantly minorities. https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/26/us/marlin-high-school-texas-graduation/index.html Quote According to Marlin High Schools’ Texas Schools report card, 98.7% of the school’s students come from an economically disadvantaged background. Our president said that "Poor people are just as smart as white people". So, the logical take is that if these people were poor, they apparently weren't white. Test scores/graduation rates are much higher in 'greater' Minnesota. State totals are brought down by Minneapolis/St Paul. (AKA Little Mogadishu) Minnesota has the largest Somali population in the United States with 64,354. Ohio is 2nd, with 21,
seafoam1 2,816 Posted May 31, 2023 Graduate the 5 kids and let them get on with life. There should be no celebration for finishing high school anyway. It should be simple proof that you should get a shot at living to see your 18th birthday. Eradicate those that can't past that one simple task in life. They aren't worthy of investing in unless it's just pay them food and water to clean the streets and such. Else they are no longer needed here.
