Where did our "division" as a country start? Spinoff (why is everything woke vs non-woke)

That is incorrect. The Democrats bought the AA community on the early 20th. African Americans really did not want to depart from the republicans but the democrats were buying.

The democrats then changed their rhetoric, but not their tactics.

You really need to read up on the shift that happened, it’s a great topic to delve into.

Every Democrat policy has only harmed the AA community.

I posted a link that explained the shift. Rural white southern folks were Democrats until the civil-rights movement heated up, and then they shifted to Republican. You can see it in the link I posted.

Please cite the part of the link that explains why if they shifted to republicans, they continued to vote for democrats in overwhelmingly majorities for 30 years?

When Democrats don't like something that clearly happened in our history, they simply rewrite it. It's a pretty cool trick but, they know how focking stupid their supporters are... So, no big deal.

I think when liberals moved out of the city to the  suburbs to get away from the blacks was  divisive.  Also the ones that do live in the city won’t send their kids to the same schools as the blacks.

Democrats have a much worse overall history of being racists than Republicans do. This fact is undeniable.

But- in todays world, almost all of the racists out there vote Republican. This is also undeniable, and it’s been especially true since the advent of Donald Trump.

So when do we see improvements for black people?

For most of its existence the Republican Party has been the party of urban, college educated, mostly wealthy Americans, business owners. Also its membership has been quite racially diverse.

But today these demographics have changed. The current Republican Party is largely white, largely rural, without college educations. It is populist, xenophobic, nativist, somewhat liberal on certain economic issues, and extremely conservative on cultural issues. It’s isolationist, anti-immigrant, and anti-free trade. Republicans are in general resentful of the cultural, social, and racial progress that thus country has made since the 1960s and this resentment, coupled with a fear of the future “browning” of America fuels their political choices far more than any particular economic concern.

At least that’s how I see it.

So when do we see improvements for black people?

1. When we get consistent money spent in the inner cities, specifically on education and promoting black businesses. Democrats pass such bills, Republicans repeal them. We need consistent spending over decades.

2. When we pass federal laws like the George Floyd and John Lewis Acts curtailing the institutional racism of local police forces and giving blacks the voter representation they’re entitled to. Currently both of these laws are opposed by 100% of Republicans.

3. When we have federally imposed gun control laws that prohibit private sales of firearms without background checks. Black Americans are the biggest victims of the absence of federal gun control.

4. When we have universal health care.

How much does it cost to teach someone to read?

It started with obama stirring up the black community by telling them they don't have to earn anything in life. They should get everything they want for free.

What’s needed besides a teacher and a classroom? It’s just reading, not biology.

Sure, led out out of financial ruin, handled a pandemic without shutting the country down, consistently lower unemployment, stock market gains, respect throughout the world...

Oh wait he was black, therefore you hate him...

Freaking racist morons...

He was a divisive loser that did nothing good for this country. He set back race relations 70 years singlehandedly. It's still a major issue.

And are you talking about the black pandemic? What are you going on about?

You're one of those dopes that call it racism if a white guy doesn't like every single black person on the planet.

Thst is the definition of being a stupid liberal hack.

The real change transpired during the new deal.

But the Democrats never stopped harming the AA community, even to this day.

He's sugar coating and spinning historical facts. I posted a focking map of electoral voting in U.S. history, and he's still trying to spin and project that. It's a fact that southern Democrats became Republicans because they were disgusted with the civil-rights movement, and he contends that the party that blacks supports overwhelmingly is more racist than the party he supports. This is madness.

Seriously how retarded are you? I’ve shown with evidence that the parties never switched and you still continue with this garbage. Why did it take 30 years for the south to start voting Republican?

You have an embarrassingly small intellect. The south went Republican as civil rights for minorities moved in. This is an undisputable fact. Provide some info to the contrary or go stick a log up your butt. But you can't, because you belong to a mindset of denial, projection and ignornace.

Voters who identify with the Democratic Party or lean toward it are much more likely than their Republican counterparts to have a college degree (41% vs. 30%).

Why are you racist morons so hung up on black people?   They represent 13% of entire population, you morons really need to stop blaming them for all the country's troubles and acting like they 100% represent all democrats.

Unlike uneducated, racist, sky fairly believing hicks.  They ARE the backbone of the republican party.

I believe that number is old.  Educated, successful people are fleeing the republican party.  Won't be long before the racist bring blacks up.

"Biden won 68 percent of congressional districts where at least 30 percent of adults have a bachelor’s degree. Donald Trump won 64 percent of districts where less than 30 percent are college-educated — and, what’s more, Trump’s showing includes carrying 96 percent of districts that were both below that education threshold and at least 70 percent white."

From the Pew Research Group article I presume.  It would have been interesting to see some more breakdown.  What percentage have High School degrees?  What percentage have technical degrees or associate degrees?  Of the college degrees what percentage are B.A.'s as opposed to B.S's, ?  What percentage have advanced college degrees?

Me, I am an elitist.  I give more credence to an engineering degree than a B.A. in women's studies.

Blacks are the least educated group in the country. They go to the worst, failing schools. They overwhelmingly vote democrat. The democrats would be screwed without them.  Just some facts.

I got a BS from DeVry. Don't know what that means as far as elitism, but it got me a 6 figure gig at a world class consulting firm. 20 years later I'm considering retirement at some point in my mid 50s. :dunno:

You constantly make posts claiming that black people vote for Democrats but that Democratic policies are bad for black people. You believe voting for Republicans would be better. Meaning - you think you know what is best for black people. That black people are too stupid to vote in their own self interest and should listen to you instead? It’s a bit late to deny that or accuse the president of it when anybody can scroll through your posts to see it’s true.
