Here are other interesting tidbits

Donald Trump has denounced white supremacy and white supremacists more than any other US elected official in American political history. He was asked and challenged so many times from 2015 - 2020, that he is on record, through video, audio and transcript, more than anyone else by a country mile.

He's also the most exonerated from impeachment as President in American political history

In 2016, he collapsed not one but TWO political dynasties in Clinton and Bush. He also won against the largest financial warchest in American political history. No one has raised so much money and so quickly compared to Hillary Clinton. (To be fair, the credit to that victory should really go to Conway, Bannon and Burnett)

He created legacy voters in poor white rural Christian America at a rate that has never been seen before in American political history. The turnout is staggering

The non stop attempts to destroy him exposed the FBI, most of Big Social Media and the activist complicit MSM. It's very likely the hunt for Trump will one day cause the FBI to be totally purged. There is no clean recovery for what they've done ( just because Trump is an exhausting petty grifter doesn't mean you can just hunt people at will by any means without regard for the actual law)

Personally I find Trump to be a total idiot, however his role as a pure "disruptor" is unparalleled. It's too bad he's so hated, because his 2016 campaign was one of the greatest underdog stories in all of recorded American history.

Buck, you claim to be a moderate, but then you quote seafoam like he represents conservatives.  Either be better or just own your Leftist partisanism.

DeSantis is desperately trying to peel the Peafoams of the world away from Donald. It’s really a stupid tactic and makes him look like a chump.

Oh, get off your high horse and stop putting words in my mouth.

Nowhere do I claim or suggest that foam = conservatives.   That attitude seems to be something the powers that be seem to think is prevalent enough in the party to cater to, I would say.   Sadly, politicians have made the calculation that making a move and targeting that would be a winning strategy.   I would also say that his attitude is fairly representative of the conservatives that I have encountered here.

Maybe instead of wasting your time on stuff like this, call out the people in your party who are like that?  Certainly you felt strongly enough being lumped in with the likes of him to call ME out for suggesting it, but nothing towards the person actually saying it.

Exactly - there has been a calculation made that there are enough of them to warrant making a play at them.  Conservatives should wrestle with that fact.   This isn't coming from the evil lefties calling them names and claiming they are bigots or anti-gay, this is coming from people in their party knowing there are enough of them still to be a factor in getting the GOP nomination.

Pretty astute analysis, given that you've hardly been here recently.

Also I guess that "yip yip dog" comment left a mark.  Sorry to pee in your Desantis-hating fake news cheerios.

I've called seafoam out plenty of times.  I cringe every time he says something like "screw the gays and the gay lovers."  I particularly cringe when he inserts it into what was otherwise a good back and forth discussion; I think I've mentioned before that he has this need for attention and can't stand a good debate going on without him.  I think he thinks he's helping the discussion with such comments.  He isn't.

Anyway, that's why I specifically ignore him in such cases.  To respond or comment on it would be to validate him.  Besides, if I spent my time commenting on his comments, that's all I'd do here, and I wouldn't find that enjoyable.

Desantis has gone all in on WOKE and is positioning himself right of Trump.  It's really his only chance to get the nomination.  Be a Trumpier Trump.

Thanks for proving my point lol.

And I’m unconvinced this isn’t tied to the Desantis campaign

Who knew Meatball Ron was a dedicated follower of fashion

Quote

From Ron DeSantis to Prada’s Runway, Fisherman Gear Catches On

The Florida governor may be going for folksy relatability, but his nylon shirts follow fashion-consumer demand for pocketed vests, $1,000 waders and fancy bucket hats

im-814449?width=700&height=466

John Kerry wore barn jackets. George W. Bush wore cowboy hats. Now, in his own pitch for relatability, Ron DeSantis is wearing fishing shirts.

The Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate has been stumping in a Columbia Sportswear back-vented nylon button-down. “Governor Ron DeSantis” and “DeSantis for President” are embroidered just above its fly-ready chest pockets.

DeSantis’s campaign didn’t respond to a request for comment, but the governor, who is from Jacksonville, Fla., and has called his home state “the fishing capital of the world,” appears to be using the shirt to underscore his coastal bona fides.

“He’s communicating that he’s from Florida, that he’s from a saltwater state, that he’s active,” said David Coggins, a longtime angler and the author of “The Optimist: A Case for the Fly Fishing Life.”

DeSantis, who is struggling to gain traction with voters, deploys the short-sleeve shirt selectively. He’s worn it in Texas and New Hampshire, but opted for a traddy suit and tie when speaking at the “Moms for Liberty” conference in Philadelphia and a fleece zip-up at his rally in landlocked Iowa. In those coastal or rural confines where he pulls out the shirt, “he’s probably trying to show that he’s agreeable to a certain type of man,” said Coggins.

That is, of course, the political reading. But know it or not, the Florida governor is oddly on trend. At its men’s fashion show in June, Italy’s Prada sent out several sure-to-be-pricey riffs on fishing vests, with a plethora of pockets and metallic hooks festooned to the front—more suitable for the Adirondacks than Ischia.

It’s all coming up Trump. Name Tim Scott as VP and he’s got this. From Cotton to Congress to the White House!
