To Ceramic or Not Ceramic

Recommended Posts

For the first time in my life, I purchased a black car last month. Ever since people have been telling me because it’s black that a ceramic coating is a must. I’ve been looking online and can find pros and cons either way.

Thoughts?

Kind of late to be asking this after you already bought the car.

🤣

WTF are you babbling about. I know enough not to get it done at the dealership.

If you want to make the black car you purchased - before you weighed all the pros and cons - look like a salacious prop in a scene out of "Ghost," be my guest.

🤣

Ceramic coating doesn't prevent scratches. I've had it on a silver Jeep. On my black Jeeps, I've had 3, including my current Grand Cherokee. I don't think it's worth getting, in fact a I prefer just a polish every year or two. I need to do that again. Key to avoiding scratches is not letting a dealership or car wash ever dry it or if they do make sure they use clean microfibers only. I don't let anyone dry my black Jeep.

I know it doesn’t protect against scratches, but supposedly it makes it much easier to keep clean.

It does do that. I didn't like the way it looked after 5 years or so. The paint stopped looking shiny.

Good to know. No one ever talks about what happens after it wears off. Are you supposed to do it every 3-5 yrs?

Google result shows:

For the most part, ceramic coatings last between two and five years. In some cases, they can last up to a decade, but this is pretty rare. However, there are many factors that affect their lifespan and might force you to replace yours sooner than you'd expect.

That’s a lie.  The Bible does say, Fools despise wisdom and instruction.  That’s you. Fool.

God bless.

For those of you that haven't figured it out yet, OldMaid has finally crossed over from the dark side from the BMW trash and bought a Toyota (of sorts) product. I'm very proud of her

Also, OM, you ought to tell them what you got..Nothing to be ashamed of....unlike your face :D

The Bible says to not call someone a fool. Matthew 5:22.

Repent.

The Bible calls them fools, the ones that lack wisdom and knowledge and instructions.  Now move on.  🎉. Amen.  The truth hurts.

I've owned 3 black cars, and this thread is the first time I've ever heard of a ceramic coating for a car.

Let it scratch. Savor the scratches, celebrate the imperfections

What if she couldn't do 2 out of the 3 you mentioned? Then what?

Does the Bible have a passage for that?

Why would you put her in a box like that, I’m sure she is more then capable off getting those things done, very rude of you to think that she  couldn’t.  Shame on you.

John 3:27.  A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given from heaven.   Thanks for asking.
