Arkansas becomes the first state in the nation to force a Chinese state-owned company to give up its American land

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas on Tuesday ordered the subsidiary of a Chinese-owned company to divest itself of 160 acres (774,400 square yards) of agricultural land, the first such action under a wave of new laws across the country restricting foreign ownership of farmland.

Attorney General Tim Griffin said Northrup King Seed Co. has two years to divest the property in Craighead County under legislation passed by the majority-Republican Legislature and signed by GOP Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders earlier this year.

Northrup is a subsidiary of Syngenta Seeds, which is owned by China National Chemical Company, or ChemChina, a Chinese state-owned company.

“We will make sure that every company operating in Arkansas is a friend to Arkansas and good to hard-working Arkansans,” Sanders at a news conference with Griffin to announce the move.

Now if they get 4 mules, they can start paying off there reparation obligations.

Can we buy land in China?

Without looking it up, I'd guess yes... but I'd also guess that anything done on that property would be monitored and regulated by the government.

"There is no private “freehold” land ownership in China. All urban land in China is owned by the Chinese government and is commonly referred to as “state-owned land.” All rural and suburban land is owned by rural collectives (i.e., local groups of farmers) and is commonly referred to as “collective land.”"

Had to work in Little Rock for about a year or so some years back. A fast food place called The Flying Fish was the pride of that town. They fried everything on the menu in the same oil.  Fried focking catfish, hush puppies, chicken, other fish, all the other crap all tasted exactly the same as the other items. Gross.

🤮

But damn the locals loved that place.

China is communist/socialist.

The people essentially own nothing.

It's exactly what the goal of the Democrat Party is trying to achieve.  Heck, they've even elected a bunch of them to Congress.
