Everyone including you are in full pads.  Pretend it's a normal game and the defense doesn't know its you in the game.  They assume its one of the starters.

I'm taking the 25 million. I might even break one for 40+ 😁

My heart wants me to try #2 but my brain says to take #1.  I think I could get the 5 net yards, enough to risk it, but I don't think I could survive the 10+ hits.

Chance of survival goes up for runs around the end, since you could probably control the hit a little better.  Problem is, my lack of speed would offset the odds of gaining the yards.

I'm convincing myself #1.

Attempting to run around the end is where you end up with minus yards and a blown knee.  Ideally a really good line would get some movement straight ahead and get you that yardage.  Hell, I have seen Tom Brady gain yardage.

Tom Brady Rushing Yards Per Game 2021 | StatMuse  The answer is 4.8 per game and over two per attempt at age 45 and he was a feeb.

You would not even be able to receive the handoff before you were dead.

Let’s get real here, fellas

That's silly, I could get the handoff.  But you remind me of another question:  what happens on a fumble?  Because I'm confident that we'd have more than a few of those.

Also I'm kinda thinking through this in a non-cancer sorta way.  My laryngectomy left me with no left pectoral, breathing through a hole in my neck, and a weakened neck.  On this last point, I'm honestly not sure my neck is strong enough to support the helmet, let alone take a hit from an NFL defender.

So yeah, probably option 1.  :D

No I legit don’t think you would. Me neither. Only a onetime semipro or at least college level athlete would and they would immediately get destroyed thereafter.

It’s actually cute how much you guys underestimate what it takes to play in professional leagues

I'm not sure why you think it would be so difficult to take a handoff.  My slower speed would have a minimal time impact over the yard or two needed to get to the QB.  If I'm getting hit before I get the ball, an NFL RB isn't going to fare much better.

Have you ever watched American football?  :dunno:

Derrick Henry ran 16 times for 9 yds vs thr Texans defense.

What are you going to do with even the 10 best run blocking attempts out of the 16?   -18 yds?

If it was 5 net yards in 10 carries for the game I’d try that. But not over 20

also what if I get 5 yards in 1st carry do I have to get 9 more carries?

I’ve been playing flag football and play hb and can still move decently for a guy my size. I’d have to see how I felt after pads were on and taking a hit. I think the strategy would be to target a hole and dive in order not to make contact

I think any dline or lb or safety hits me once and I’m not getting up. Plus haven’t taken a hit in 30 years probably tear something or break something

I think it would be possible to net 5 yards on 10 carries if you had a competent line by running inside.  The chances of injury are high and you are pretty much guaranteed to fumble 2-3 times out of 10.  Although the way stats count, even if you fumble after a 2 yard run you keep the 2 yards.

Needless to say a lot depends on the matchups.  If you are running behind the 49ers O-Line vs the Falcons or Panthers, you have a much better chance than running behind the Panthers line against the Browns or 49ers.  Forget any YAC, it isn't happening.  Most of this is about the line matchups and getting to the hole fast enough to get whatever the line earns for you.  Nobody here is gaining one inch more.

Your choices:
1.) Take $1 million tax free for doing nothing
2.) Get $25 million tax free IF you can do this:
Play RB in an NFL game behind an NFL line, vs another NFL team.  Teams are random.
You MUST carry the ball 10 times and finish with a net 5 yds.

Your 10 running plays must come within 20 total plays by the offense.  Meaning, the other team can't just put 11 in the box.  They stand to lose something if its a pass (missing playoffs, etc)

It's in a real game, with playoff implications, so both teams are trying.

3.) Get $500 million if you can do this:
Play offensive tackle for 1 full NFL game, every offensive play.  If you can avoid ending up the ground more than 3 times, you get the $500 million tax free. You MUST stay in and try to block.  No running backwards when the ball is snapped, etc.

Which option are you attempting ?

Can I do 2 & 3?  Would I be allowed to take off 20 plays from my tackle job to to get my rushing yards, or does it need to be separate games?
