Where do you find out about new music? (Spin-off)

Recommended Posts

Couple times a week I read reviews at Pitchfork and Resident Advisor and check new releases on Metacritic. I also like to let my iTunes library run on random sometimes, gives me a heads up on music similar to stuff I like that I may not have heard yet.

Prime Music recommendations.

I also do random YouTube searches for covers....find some great ones & uncover a lot of bands I'm not aware of.

After listening to an album, Spotify will continue playing artists that are in the same genre.  That's how I learned about several prog bands.

I also watched a year end wrap up video from The Prog Report and learned about some bands I hadn't previously known about.

Listen to KEXP tag some songs I like. Drop into Apple, Spotify, etc.

KEXP is great - their song of the day pod and videos on YouTube. Totally forgot about them. And for punk/hardcore Hate5six. So many good sets online.

Yep. They have good DJ’s who play a bit of everything.

Man, you should check out Amyl and the Sniffers if you haven't already. Best band out of Australia since AC/DC.

Also, The Chats.

Yeah, usually on the country stations I have on SiriusXM. I might hear something and go that’s pretty good who is that and look up their stuff. And playing guitar that’s kind of fun to be able to see if you can then go and play it. I’m kind of late to Larry Fleet, but he’s pretty good. Josh Meloy.Etc
