My cognitive decline

I'm pushing fitty and already feel like I'm getting more and more forgetful.  Oh, and my ability to read up close went to shat at 45 and my hearing is already worthy of an aid.

 

Sucks to get old.  Imaging being in your 80's and trying to run the most powerful country in the world.

My flatulence awareness has been impaired.  Sometimes I forget to check my surroundings before letting them fly.  Also, I continue to blame the dog though the dog died two years ago.

I used to be a GREAT speller.   I find as I get older, some words are not coming to me like they used to.

Yea my read up close is gone and started noticing that in my 40's, also can't read hardly anything unless bright light. Gave up on reading traditional books a few years back cause of both.

I think that's a product of spell check. Some things we just lose the skill because of technology. 

Before GPS, I traveled multiple times driving across country and knew the areas where I lived masterfully. Now? I need gps to go to places 7 miles from my home. 

Phone numbers? I knew two dozen easily. Now? My own and my girlfriend's and that's it. 

Last year's tax season? I went in to talk with my preparer and when she asked me for my bank routing and account numbers and I knew those, and when I told her without looking she actually stopped and said, "oh, you are good."

It's actually shocking to people if you remember certain things. 

It's important to do mind exercises more than ever.

I actually have to gag down something with the viscosity of cold molasses every day. It's supposed to absorb extra ammonia from brain/system to keep from cognition loss. 

I hope it works better than it tastes.

I'm definitely on the Biden path.  By the time I'm 80 I'm going to be completely out of it as well.  Hopefully I don't make it that long.

I can’t see at night and I’m sore all the time. Plus, the older I get the more I hate commies.  Imagine being the leader of the free world and you have to hold an emergency press conference at 8pm in the evening to tell everyone you’re not senile where you mix up Mexico with Egypt.

It’s nothing to be ashamed of. It happens. He had a good run as a lifer in politics.
