It was the one before. I figured if I responded you would call me another name, like you just did above.

It makes sense that if the higher percentage of black players is a result of talent, then probably that same talent should translate to a higher percentage of black players at the coaching level, unless you want to argue that whites are smarter and thus make better coaches (which, by the way, is the reasoning that racists used for decades as an explanation as to why there were so few black coaches).

No, it doesn't make sense.  What is it about the ability to run a 4.4 40 directly correlates to coaching acumen?

There is more to playing football than running a 40.

If players are chosen by talent and their playing ability, how is that blacks are over represented in the NFL?

Excellent. You agree then that acceptance into highly regarded educational institutions should be soley based on testing scores and extra-curricular activity and not skin color.

True. Keeping the players hydrated is very important as well. Thank you for your service.

True, although it depends on the position.  Some positions are more cerebral than others.

Does playing football teach you how to manage 70-ish elite athletes, and more support staff?  Deal with the media, fans, team execs?  Are those skills more important than the 40?

There used to be an expression:  those who can't, teach.  The idea was that those who struggled physically understood the work that went into to achieving excellence better than those who were naturally physically gifted.  I guess that isn't true anymore.  :dunno:

So when does this BS stop?  I mean, these guys aren't arguing about the disparity of black people filling in the vending machines too, are they?   or the ration of black to white people cleaning sewage drains?  It's always about the C-Suite positions and positions of power.

That's why all this is nothing but a money and power grab.  Has absolutely ZERO to do with equality.

Yes, playing football helps you become a better coach, which is why pretty much every coach was a former player on some level.

And that old expression meaning was that those that failed at a discipline had no other choice than to teach it.  Had nothing to do with physical talent.

It helps, but it’s not a requirement.  Overall I wouldn’t say we should be comparing against either the % of the total population or the % of players.  Probably somewhere in the middle.

Wrong. It specifically has to do with lack of talent.  Just bow out, Gutter, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Playing in the NFL doesn’t help guys learn how to deal with the media, executives, and fans? Interesting hill to die on, Jerry.

I've never met a stalker before who tried to bag on what someone makes when they have to steal $7 streams and runs from $500 bets.

Insecure, anxiety-ridden, stalker boi.

It did seem pretty odd there were so few  black coaches in a league with so many black players.

6 percent of the US are black males.  6 percent of 32 is rounded up to 2. There has not been a lack of black head coaches for a long time. It is like the female wage gap. Something fun to talk about but not real.

Ah look at the cultist trying to protect their poor, insecure fellow cultist.

It's almost cute...If you guys really want to help, maybe hook Horsesass up a little so he doesn't need to steal a $7 steam and perhaps he'll be just a little less insecure.

He's correct. What are you trying to sell?

There is a gender wage gap and there was previously a lack of black head coaches.   But this year’s hires have helped a lot in that regard.

Gender is closer to 50/50.

Black men are closer to 6% of population. How are they going to fill all the jobs you want them to fill?

The idea of a gender wage gap is a lie by omission. Women are paid less but they do different work. Women and men  in the same industries with the same amount of time are paid the same.

I missed that you selectively quoted part of my post.

To these points, yes, to some extent, although it doesn't make you good at it.  Certainly not one of the 32 best at it.

In hindsight, I should have stuck with the management side of the argument.
