I understand that it is sometimes hard to get the implied tone of what is being written but your take could not be further from the truth. Perhaps I should have included a smiling emoji to help you decipher. Do you understand this one? 🖕

You are such a troll - it's the main reason I have had you on ignore for years now. Plus I don't think you are too bright. Admittedly, I sometimes let my curiosity get the better of me and I click on one of your posts...only to be reminded why I have you on ignore in the first place. Trust me, I won't do that again. Whatever "witty" insult you come up with now will forever be lost in the ether. I won't open any more posts from you, nor engage with you again.

In pork butt's words "Fock off!"

This take definitely fits with Costco sheets.

Sony’s have been winning the VE Shootout since 2018.

You have to sit 7 feet from a 70 inch screen to see 4K level definition.

I agree with the others. Unless it's a huge room with an ample sitting area then go with standard definition. You'll never know the difference in that regard. I'd focus more on the sound system.

Standard definition?   The improvement in contrast alone that OLED provides makes the viewing experience much more enjoyable.

A strong sound system is important though.  I used to have the whole wired 7.1 setup with receiver, surounds, sub, etc.   Recently switched to a wireless Sonus Arc system with two surrounds and subs and while the sound isn't quite as good, it's very close and the clean look and no wires make up for it.

I'd be lying if I said I knew much about the latest TV tech but for me I couldn't tell a $5,000 TV from a $1,200 one. I tend to fall somewhere in the middle. I won't by the cheapest but I'm not getting a Walmart TV either. My kids know better than I.

I will spend on a decent sound system though, that makes the experience IMO.

I don't even think you can buy sd tvs anymore.

OLED has come a long way in terms of brightness in bright rooms.  It's the way to go.  Sony>Samsung.

The contrast that OLED provides is really what sets them apart.  Contrast is the ability to make out details in dark scenes and it makes the entire image more 3D without being 3D obviously.  Just a more immersive experience.

Sound is incredibly important, you're right about that.

For your next tv boyo get yourself a nice OLED and I promise you you won't regret it.  Just don't use it to surf for your favorite tranny and drag queen sites boyo.  That'd be a major waste.

Not only that, but Sony now makes a hybrid that’s a QD Oled.

Are you talking about the main floor only? What is an acceptable sq foot house? What is your sq ft of house on the main floor?

I agree with the post about LG TVs being terrible. I bought two at the same time for my bar and they both went bad within 2 years and out of warranty.
I also agree with the consensus to go Samsung. That’s all I have now.

My one complaint about Samsung is the remote and interface with apps. I stream everything and trying to navigate through the cable apps is terrible. I wish my model had voice control.

I go through my PS5 for everything on my Samsung. It's awesome.

For someone with the TV and remote only, I have it in multiple rooms, is there anything I can do/buy to make it better? Seriously, navigating with the focking Samsung remote blows…

We have two Samsung tvs. One in my study and one in our living room. For one, I use Apple TV in my study. My girlfriend got it for me a long while back. Once you figure it out it's pretty easy. I use it to simply navigate streaming services. Don't even need the Samsung controller. Except for basic TV settings.

https://www.bestbuy.com/discover-learn/what-is-apple-tv-and-what-does-it-do/pcmcat1690814480581#:~:text=While connected to your regular, right on your TV screen.

I love my PS5 cause I like the games but it also can hold your streaming services and you only need your Samsung remote to turn on the TV. Then you use the PS controller for everthing else, except for if you have to change your input sources and tv settings and the like. So basically, hardly ever once you are set up.

Have you thought about a Roku or Firestick?  Personally, I like the Roku better. I have two Samsungs and the "smart one" doesn't need the Roku but navigating it, like you said, blows.
