Anybody with a modicum of sense would assume that HE was going to be the candidate. Especially since they didn't allow anybody to primary him. 

When Trump agreed to the debates, he made clear that he was planning on debating Biden. 

Nobody thought the dems were going to put anybody other than Biden at the top of the ticket because they'd been gaslighting everybody about Biden's cognitive decline. 

Only naive fools and gullible idiots believed Biden had a shot at winning the debates but the dems told everybody he was up to the task.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday said he would no longer participate in a September debate on ABC, opting instead to accept Fox News’ offer to debate Vice President Kamala Harris on Sept. 4.

The former president said the ABC debate was agreed to when President Joe Biden was the presumptive Democratic nominee “but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant.”

Trump also cited his active defamation lawsuit against ABC and the network’s anchor George Stephanopoulos, though that lawsuit had already been filed for months when Trump originally agreed earlier this summer to debate Biden on the network.

I've done a search and can't even find confirmation that Fox has offered to host a debate. Debates are negotiated by both candidates teams and the host, so it seems almost entirely made up by Trump. How could he agree to a debate hosted by Fox, without both sides agreeing to the terms of the debate.

Reminder, she dropped early in the primary race in 2020 because she ran out of money. Most Democrats didn't get the opportunity to vote or not vote for her. And Biden had a pretty poor record of running for POTUS too before he got the nomination.

Trump makes plenty of mistakes but good for him on this.  He agreed to all the Biden terms because he wanted to expose Biden.  It was so bad that Biden dropped out.  I wouldn't show up to it either unless Harris agreed to another debate on Trump's terms.

My theory is that they needed Joe to hang on until just after the election in the hopes that he could once again pull off the impossible. Then they'd immediately put him out to pasture and install Commiela as the first blah blah blah president in American history. 

But Joe ran out of steam too early and now they have to run her on her own merits and it terrifies them. 

I wouldn't be surprised if they try to take another shot at Trump before November.
