**Round One-Three Commentary**

Whelp, I had the 1st pick in the July draft and looks like I have it again now.  Same draft position, same player.  McCaffrey seems like the most obvious pick here.

I was very close to taking Caitlin Clark though. 😉

Of course you were. :P

I think this is the only possible first pick for anyone with a brain. Non-PPR, PPR, half-PPR...all of it points to McCaffrey.

Sorry, our morning meeting started early and ran late, as we prepare for a special event this Friday.  Saturday will mark the one year anniversary of our devastating tornado.

I didn't think I could afford to wait for my RB1 at pick 23.  Robinson was just shy of 1,500 yards overall with 4 TD's on the ground and 4 TD's through the air.

Three running backs in four picks. Methinks some must see a major drop off at the position beyond the top tier.

Worm is a West Coast guy, I believe, so we could have a pause here. Maybe not.

For this scoring format and maybe any start 2 RB format, Hall is my #2. Maybe a little homerism there but i'm not usually a heavy Jets drafter. I think there will also be backs I like in rounds 2/3 but also plenty of players I like at other positions as well.  Just feels like it allows me to be a little more flexible. As always this is a mock draft first but in the back of your mind, when you know you can't hit the waiver wire, it's less appealing to potentially be picking your top backs in rounds 4/5  if the talent in rounds 2/3 dictate waiting again.

Even if I wasn’t picking at #9 and had an earlier pick, I can’t see me taking a RB this year this early. Just my 2 cents, but guess this is why we Mock and share comments.

I am indeed a West Coast guy, but thankfully I was already up.

I debated a couple other options, but ultimately I didn't feel as comfortable about my WR1 coming from whoever may be available at my next pick.  Plus Ceedee has just as good of a shot to be the top WR again this year.

Love the pick. A solid argument could be made for CeeDee @ 1.02

Sorry for f'ing this up guys. Won't happen again.

You didn't. First day always has a few glitches as we seek to get acclimated.

I know who I was expecting Shovel to pick there and it wasn't Jonathan Taylor...

Completely slipped my mind.  Had a Take A Kid Fishing tourney yesterday and it wiped me out mentally. Up at 4am...fish from 6:30 to 2:30...home by 4pm. By the time I got the boat cleaned and put way it was time to crash.

RBs this year just feel... ugh. I could see waiting and throwing darts for 4 in rounds 4-9 and just hoping you hit.

Unfortunately for me selecting 10th, ARB was the last in the elite WR category for me. I'm hoping that Gibbs makes a big jump in year 2, especially in catches.

From all my research, the first 8-9 picks are all the same players, just a different mix. I would have preferred Chase, but very pleased with ASB! Good receiver on a great offense.

(2 Lions players in a row here)

Not saying it's a bad pick by any means, but I really hesitate on Puka this early. I don't think Kupp's just going to roll over, and I don't know Stafford will be able to support two high end WRs at this point in his career.

Would have loved for Garrett Wilson to fall to me at 2.02. I'll roll the dice on Henry instead. In a non-PPR, I have him as a top-five back in that offense.

Didn’t want two Eagles so I let Barkley slide on by. Solid pick- gives the defending champ a terrific backfield potentially if Hurts doesn’t steal most of the rushing TDs.

This.

And literally why I doubled up on the WRs

Actually agree with this.  I almost went Barkley instead because of exactly that.  I decided to go young and risky over older and risky.  No, Kupp isn't done, but he's been injured a couple of times now.  The upside is in youth.  But WRs are rich in the upper part of this draft, and this choice could end up biting me.

I agree 100%. And I don’t hesitate to go WR-WR given the RB concerns. Thank god I don’t want one now.

Considered a WR here, but wanted a RB to give me some flexibility. Williams had a fine season last year even missing time due to injury. Still not high on the RBs, but Williams is worth a shot.

London was someone I was hoping to get but honestly not until 3.4.
that’s why we June mock!

Most of the sites I use show him at #18 or about overall.

I Havnt done a ton of research yet this year but I have him more in the 25-30 overall range. Definitely wanted him though and may have picked him at 2.9 to be safe

I confess that I'm not really high on London.  But that's also because I've been burned by his inconsistency.

Wow……guess we will see. Looks like I am “alone on the island”. I am thinking Cousins will improve his stats.

I didn’t think it was a strange pick at all. I considered him at 2.02. London’s inconsistency due to subpar QB play is no different than what Garrett Wilson has experienced to date.

I have London as a late second/early third pick. He wasn't the top WR on my board, but I wouldn't expect him to make it back to your next pick.
