I typically stream DST. Who are the teams with favorable matchups the first 1-3 games?

Cincinnati :

First 4 weeks they play 2 terrible teams, One rookie QB, and one tough team:

Week 1: New England

Week 2: Kansas City

3: Washington

4: Carolina

I agree the NE is a good matchup.  Likely the worst team in the league this year.  I’m not so sure Washington is going to be a good matchup with Daniels at QB.  I’m thinking he’s going to be the best of the rookie QBs, and it may not even be close.

Daniels is a rookie. I don't normally bet heavy on rookie QBs in the early games of their career on teams that were 4-13 the previous year. If he lights it up, great, but that is not what the history of the NFL tells us is most likely to happen. Even Vegas only puts their U/O at 6.5.  :dunno:

I’m eyeing Seattle the first couple of weeks.  Middle of the road in the rankings, but play Denver & New England to start.

Agreed, Washington really could be a team to be reckoned with this season if/when Jayden Daniels pans out.  If so, the earlier in the season to have them on the schedule the better.

Outside of that, obviously, KC is the last team you want to see you D/ST face, but the Patriots and Panthers, can't get much better than that.

That works. But you better get another defense by week 3. In my main league we have 21 roster spots and after the draft if a few owners really like their team, they will buy a couple extra defenses in the first go at free agency. They can always be dropped if you want to use them for 2 weeks and move on to another one. Same thing happens a couple weeks before playoff time. The teams are pretty set in their guys and bid up defenses for the playoff run if anyone good is available. But at some point in the season only the bottom feeders are around to pick up.

If you punt on Defense the Giants get 'seeing ghosts' Darnold week 1 and then rookie Daniels week 2. Their front line should be good for many sacks with Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeux... If you needed more convincing Seafoam thinks it folly...

I like your thoughts on this, but I have a tough time trusting the Giants. I think their offense is going to be really bad, which will put their defense on the field a lot.

Yeah, in the $ leagues I play in, D/ST is pretty much an afterthought.  About half the league gets a top 10 D and sticks with them, and the other half streams.  Rare for owners to carry more than one.

I would agree with this for season long, but we are talking week 1, maybe 2.  The Vikings D was nothing special and the comanche's were ungood. Giants should be able to move the ball against those teams. Sacks and turnovers are what matter most anyway depending on your scoring system. Regardless, I am not talking about a top 5 slam dunk option, but rather if you just need a defense for a week or two while you figure out the vibes of the new league year, and you can get for free...

Yea, I’m not saying they’re going win a ton of games, but I do think they will put up points.  Daniels is fast, and he’s not likely to sit in the pocket progressing through his 3rd and 4th reads.  Most likely if his first read isn’t there, he’s going to run.  Yes, he will make mistakes but I don’t necessarily think he’ll try to force throws when he knows he can run.  It’s just a gut feeling, and I’m often wrong.

To be honest, I just don't see Carolina being that tough this year.

Not sure where they would fall.  But I believe Broncos are a sneaky defense this year.  Sneaky team overall.

🤦‍♂️

The first post "I typically stream......" should have been your first clue. This entire thread is about finding a streamer or two with the best early season schedules.
