It is NOT Tua time......

Recommended Posts

He needs that time off.  Hopefully in that time, he heals up and learns how to not take a hit or lead with his head.

It's all speculation, but if I was setting the over/under on when he's back, I'd say week 10.

Decent chance he takes the whole year off.  McDaniels is so worried about being empathetic, he's going to influence the decision.  He seems to be treating him like he's his son and not a grown man.

A coach of a grown man is going to help Tua obtain the most accurate information to help Tua make a decision on if he'd like to play again.

McDaniels is saying things like he's focused on his health and not his career.  No one should worry about when he's coming back, etc.

And I'm sure his players will appreciate that sentiment, but a more balanced perspective would be, "I'm not thinking about him playing football right now.  I'm concerned about his health.  Ultimately, Tua will have to make a decision on what's best for him, and this organization will support him in every way possible."

The difference is subtle, but it's important.  He's basically saying Tua shouldn't think about playing. In reality, Tua should think really hard about playing and if it's worth it to him.  And from that perspective, if Tua wants to play, he should come back as soon as he's fully healthy.

Was offered Hill for ETN. TUA is back in a few weeks?

Wow.... that's interesting.  Regardless of Qb, the Dolphins main game plan is always - get the ball in Hill's hands (can't blame 'em, it usually works).  Hill might not be the top Wr every week for now, but I expect he still gets enough volume to be near the top (last week won't be indicative of the entire season). And my total guess is Tua will be back Week 8 or 9.

ETN on the other hand is splitting carries with Tank and could end up losing goal line carries too.... Jags offense looks bad. Team seems to be quitting on their overrated coach, who everyone knows will almost certainly be gone next year.

Think I'd take the leap of faith and take that trade.  Besides, rather have a good WR than a good RB... they don't miss as many games to injury and don't split carries.

I think its more than just about the coach.

its about legalities too.   if the doc says he can play and he gets hurt, the doc, the team and whoever else approved it can be sued for an awful lot of money.

I'm pretty sure the lawyers are in there giving a whole lot of advice on this.   it may even come down to a situation where Tua has to sign a document saying he wont sue the team if he gets hurt (or something of the like)

at the end of the day, the fear of being sued is likely the driving factor here.

but the hardest part as a fantasy owner is knowing how badly he was hurt.   all they are saying is he has a concussion.  but the severity of the concussion is likely the largest factor in determining if he is able to return sooner or later.

but Tua has had a fairly serious concussion already so even a minor one can keep him out a number of weeks.

while it did not look like an overly vicious hit his neck was bent in a bit of an awkward direction at the time it happened and that likely is why he got the concussion this time around.   That and the fact that he had a serious one before.    once you have a couple concussions it becomes easier to have another.   this hit may not have even given a QB a concussion(or maybe gave a mild grade 1 concussion) to someone who was fully healthy with no prior history of concussions.   but its Tua and hes had a history.

so I do think they will tread carefully (as they should)  but in the interim, his ability to play is highly speculative at this time.

They have not announced it yet but Huntly is all but assured to be the starter till Tua gets back.

If Tua doesn't come back, I don't see them being successful with their ground game.

Accepted it, not like ETN has been incredible either.

ETN owner, was just talking to leaguemate about Lawrence/JAX,  they're not playing at the Bills every week,  They're schedule gets easier.  I think that game was rock bottom for JAX, and everyone goes up from here.  Peterson will figure it out.  He offered you Hill for ETN, at the perfect Low time for ETN, IMHO

If it were JUST playing the bills I would agree. That is not the case. They are 0-3 and their schedule is not soft. The QB is.

They just played Bills and Browns before that.  Next, HOU, IND, CHI, NE, GB, I'd say that's a nice stretch to right the ship.

What I see is them losing the next 3-5 games and possibly all 5 though it would be tough to lose to NE.

When he’s healthy, Bigsby will get a lot of work.
