You are right, though. I am bound by ideology. But the ideology is right vs. wrong, more freedom vs. less, and not being bound to either party. Because the GOP has gone full-on batshit crazy, I'm forced to vote for Democrats. I wasn't kidding that I would happily sign up for a Walz/Vance ticket over what we currently have. I think you might be right about lying polls, just not who they are lying in favor of. There is no way if Harris wins that you won't be completely spun out for the next four years. Absolutely zero chance you won't be yelling fraud. If Harris grabs those 310 EVs, maybe you'll immigrate to Russia.

I do not have the time or patience to go hunting for past examples, I do not recall a specific time for you and I to fall into this situation  It is really not that common overall, I usually have to wait for a scenario where someone pretended to care about a situation in the past and suddenly does not, and the political factor is evident.

Even CNN national polls have going from Harris +3 to Even.  When CNN and NYT show an even race nationally, Harris is toast.

Have you watched a presidential election ever?  Biden was suppose to win by 10 points in 2020, he won by 4.5.  Hillary was suppose to win by 7 points, she won the national vote by 2 points.  When these polls which always favor Dems by 5 points show a dead heat nationally, it means Trump has a significant lead nationally.  Even a tie nationally means an easy Trump win the the EVs.  This is not a close race.
