Week 8 NFL

Recommended Posts

The league can stop play after every snap but you can’t review an obvious face-mask in the end zone in the 4th quarter of a one-possession game. I have no rooting interest in Vikes / Rams but that really sucks.

Love seeing that second 'L' registered on Minny's tab. I had been starting to feel buyer's remorse for being happy when they beat Green Bay. I can now go back to considering the Packers as the bigger threat to the Lions in the NFC North. Last week was the third time in a row that the Lions O seemed to have solved that Vikings D that gives other teams fits.

Also, as an added bonus, seeing a non-49er team emerge in the NFC West would be nice too.

Minny probably loses that game anyway without the atrocious non call.

Jordan Love was knocked out of the Packers game this week; on tap next week they have a big home game vs Detroit. We'll see how serious it is.

The Browns play better any time they bring in a QB who isn’t Watson.

GB them. Since they are stuck playing Lamar twice a year, fate has forced to figure that sh*t out and did a good job of it this week.

Somehow the Bears are going to win this game even though Eberflus is either the dumbest coach on the planet or he bet Washington to win...

Incredible.

Commanders-Bears was great. Caleb made some fantastic throws in the 4th. That ending was wild. Would have helped my Eagles for WAS to lose, but I can’t even be mad about it. Daniels is special.

WTF happened to Watson over the past few years? That legal crap really must have hit him hard. Or, he made his money and has cashed it in.

Injuries plus the time off plus the legal issues and he’s just washed now. I can’t imagine how pissed Browns fans just be knowing they gave up 3 first rounders and $230m guaranteed for a scumbag who’s also the worst QB in the game.

Williams claims he doesn't get nervous. He definitely looked nervous thru the first 3 quarters going back to his home town.

What's funny, is the Bears have spent huge on Swift, Moore, Kmet, Allen and drafted Odunze in the first and then hand the ball off to a back up offensive lineman at the goal line and shockingly he fumbled. 😱 Oof....

Glad I didn't bet that game.

More than anything I really feel like that layoff killed him. Had he been allowed to be around football and practice I think he would have come out of it ok. Had he used that time to pay some practice squad players to come work out with him he would have been fine. Instead he likely just sat at home and got fat. His brain lost the ability to read coverages which in turn made him uncork bad throws. He is a broken QB that will likely not even be able to get back to replacement level and certainly not a high level ever again.

Remember how Tiger Woods fell off after his affairs came out in the open and he got divorced?

I think when players get exposed like that, it shakes their confidence at a fundamental level.

Not sure man. The idiot in Baltimore would like a word. The ONLY times the ravens have lost is when Henry does not get 20 carries. How many carries did Henry get? 11. What happened? They lost of course. That is a DIRECT result of pisss poor coaching. He is the best offensive weapon in football and you rush him 11 times?

I’d say he had a bad game. The other idiot is just bad.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of the chain gang?

I hadn't, but if they decided to do something better than some guys running flags out to the field I'm all for it.

What a dumb concept.  Oh, I'm going to put my foot down, then these guys will run out and stretch the chain.  All we need is my foot to be perfect.  The guy on one end of the chain to put it perfectly at the line of scrimmage after jogging out and then the second guy needs to put it right.  Then all I need to do is grab the chain and run over to a hash mark and then that'll be accurate down to the width of an index card.

Haven't seen a measurement even once this season.

no need for it. The balls have chips in them that have gps. There is no room for error.

I saw a measurement in the chicago washington game after a Daniels run. His shin was down and the ball was inches short.  It was a good spot but they measured it anyway

someone else beat me to mentioning Tiger Woods. I think its a pretty good analogy. The problem for Watson is that he won't get a chance to work through this and come out of it as the old Watson, the NFL will move on from him as it mostly already has... Golf being an individual sport allowed Tiger to work through his issues and get his head right and return to greatness at his own pace.

The chain gang came out based on the ref's "foot spot"?

:dunno:  Daniels was tackled on a 3rd down run. The ball was placed. the refs brought out the chains and measured.

Watching the replay it looked like they got the spot correct based on where the ball was when his shin touched the ground. I don't believe Washington challenged the spot but I could be wrong.

Just saying I saw a measurement yesterday. Can't say I've been bothering to look all season

Introducing your first place AZ Cardinals$#@!

(three way tie at 4-4, but they are 2-0 in division, having beaten the Niners and Rams).

yeah by the time he turns his head around it almost seems like he could have thought his teammates had the receiver before he could get to him and make the play
