if you think the food and pharmaceutical companies dont work hand in hand, I dont know what to tell you, they dont want people healthy, there is no money in being healthy

I don’t think General Mills is working with Big Pharma to make people sick.

General Mills is trying to raise their profits, please stock holders, and their top executives are figuring out how to get paid as much as possible.

1.) There have been studies. There is no conclusive link. Also, 5G networks use non-ionizing radiation- the same thing emitted by FM radio. Also, non-ionizing radiation doesn't damage DNA- they know this because they know they know ionizing radiation does. They know that- because of the sun. They continue to do studies and they still find no causal links.

If conservatives are really serious about legislating Kennedy’s proposals to remove and/or restrict food additives, this could be one of the most impactful and positive Presidencies in our history and I will be the first to say so. IF it actually happens.

But why do I get the feeling that conservatives aren’t really serious about this or anything; they’re just looking for ways to defend Trump’s wild appointments in order to further troll the libs?

Yep. When Michelle Obama tried to put an apple on the kid’s menu at school it was government run amok! How dare she!

Food Fight: 15 Foods Banned in Europe But Legal in the US

you cant put poisons in food, they all are filled with poisons

Skittles aren't banned. They are not allowed to make them with titanium dioxide there but you can still buy skittles.

But even titanium dioxide isn't banned in food in the US- It is heavily regulated though

nope I just listen to other voices than the ones I am told to listen

our food is different in this country compared to most first world countries

our obesity levels are thru the roof, I am not sure what data you think hes lying about

obesity in america is around 44% in japan its under 5% and thats including all ages

Other voices that are exaggerating the truth and/or straight out lying. You believe them because they (R) not the "ones I'm supposed to listen to"

He is exaggerating about the obesity levels. Not to mention- there is more to it than "Well it's our food".....it's not a simple "if this....then " equation

Everyone wants the idea of better food. People can do it now but they don’t.

It’s a bit maddening if MAGA folks are acting as if this is some new cause they discovered but if the end effect is improved food standards so be it, here’s a cookie (non-GMO, all organic, no processed sugars).

Yeah we’ll see here’s the problem: I can see RFK proposing something like this, why not? And then I can see Trump approving it, after all he said he was going to let RFK “run wild with the food!”

…And then it goes to Congress. And that’s when the food and chemical companies say to their representatives “umm we donated 2 million to your last campaign so please quash this idea, mmkay?” And then the bill disappears in committee and we never hear about it again. And if asked Trump says “hey we’re working on it! It’s a concept of an idea!”

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I’m wrong about this.

Oh come on.

Michelle Obama dictated what could be served at school lunch based on an food pyramid that was always more political than scientific.

Kennedy is talking about limiting what chemicals manufacturers can put in your food.

These things are not remotely the same.

You’re right. What Kennedy is talking about is far more intrusive and far more impactful. Which is why I think it’s unlikely to happen. But we’ll see.

Yes we have an obesity problem for sure. It seems to me that the only way to really fix it is to start putting restrictions on food. In the past we haven’t been willing to do that. Are we now?

Maybe we can still allow Froot Loops and other such items.  Just don't allow them to be sold in a food store.  Put them on the shelfs in Toxic Chemical stores.

Americans are not willing to eat Grape Nuts, or  unsweetened Shredded Wheat or Corn Flakes for breakfast.  They certainly will not stand still for unsweetened yogurt lacking chemical coloration and flavoring.

Not true General, not everyone has a choice. As of now healthy choices come with a price. Meal plan an organic dinner as opposed to garbage foods or snacks for that matter. The lower class basically have no choice but eat fast food garbage or boxed/caned dinners which creates obesity, inflammation and ultimately cancer.

We need to get to a point where healthy is "The Option". This will drive down prices and open up new markets.

It's a good thing, how can anyone be upset about it? Everyone should have the right to healthy choices.

Let's start by not putting bad stuff in foods. That would be step 1.

This guy does realize that an apple is not the same thing as terrible unhealthy food additives, no?

Let me guess, he voted for Harris.

This keeps getting better by the post. 😆

They have the choice they are choosing not to in many food choices. Some items do cost more certainly but there is no magic bullet to make, say high quality meat less expensive or organic vegetables less expensive.

If the day comes that a giant corporation food processing conglomerate is forced to change the way they operate by government regulation remember this convo. People are very upset about paying more remember. Furthermore they cry about government interfering in their choices, etc.

These Liberals just don't know what to do next, they're so discombobulated that they'll throw anything against the wall.

They just can't let it go. Take your ass beating like a Man, learn from it and shut the F up!

Who exactly is "they"?

Poor people can't afford healthy options, hell, their local supermarkets probably don't offer healthy options.

Your not that out of touch. You're the only Liberal I can tolerate in here. Let's be honest with each other at least.

Kids, parents, etc. One of the major complaints about this healthy food initiative in schools was that scores of kids didn’t want the apple, they wanted an apple pie.

The issue with local super markets in poor neighborhoods you describe was another Michelle Obama issue - food deserts.

Absolutely.

Nonetheless why are we not regulating these cancer causing additives that they're putting in our food? It's time.

Ever wonder why these chemicals are outlawed in other Countries and not ours?

But define healthy. Are vegetables grown with pesticides and fertilizers healthy just because they're vegetables or fruits?

See my point? Just because they're "healthy" doesn't make them healthy.

What kind of sense does that make?
