I saw we have done of against him which means he’s due to rip off 12 K’s and 7 shutout innings

If I were betting my money would be on Detroit. Home town crowd will be crazy but if Detroit gets early run M’s will pucker up and lose.

If he gets $40AAV, Skenes is going to get at least $50 to $55M.  Ugh.  Might as well trade him now.

What the Tigers need to decide.   Either sign him in the offseason, or trade him.

What sucks for them is that Jobe missed like 70% of the season and will probably miss that much of next season.  Not being able to see what he could do to potentially replace Skubal will force them actually make that decision.  I think the answer is based on length of the deal.  He's going to be 29 next month.  Heading into the first year of his new deal, he'll be 30.  Last year, Fried entering his age 31 season got an 8-yr / $27M AAV deal from the Yankees.  Burns got 6 @ $35.  Snell, even older, got 5 @ $36.  Seems to me that if Skubal wants $40M, it'll have to be a 6 year deal.  Wonder if he would take that.  I think the Tigers should.

Thanks for making this  worse for me though.  Skenes won't be 24 until May.   He'll finish Y6 at 26 years old.  He'll get 8+ for $60M.  FOCK!!

Thanks for making this  worse for me though.  Skenes won't be 24 until May.   He'll finish Y6 at 26 years old.  He'll get 8+ for $60M.  FOCK!!  

Skubal's agent is Scott Boras.  Rumor is he is seeking 40 million for 10 years.   I agree, if the Tigers can get him for 40 over 5..maybe 6, I'd be ok with it.  10 years is too much.

I think they might have found a gem in Melton.  Kid has a good arm, is young, and has a killer attitude.  

I honestly don't see Skubal as a Tiger next year.

Boras?  Yeah, you're screwed.  He's going to NY, LA, or SD.

Melton did pretty well this year.  I picked him up in my fantasy league in August, for depth.  He did pretty well.  I also followed him a little bit in the minors.  Because I watch a lot of Pirates minor league ball, Erie is in the same division as Altoona and Toledo with Indy, I've seen him pitch against Pirates minor league teams.  In the minors, his K:BB ration was great.  In the major's though, it was half.  Will be interesting to see if he can get it closer to 3.5 to 4:1.  That will be a great sign.
