I have claymores and a moat surrounding my home.

Tell me what you would do if your work had thousands of crazed neckbeards surrounding it, a pack of them got into the building, and then one of them busted through a window and started crawling in 😂

This would violate my HOA covenants.

That is attempted murder in almost every state.   But it does not seem that bad, right?

Attempted murder and gross negligence. He could of killed innocent civilians as well.

This clown was looking to kill someone that day. No doubt in my mind.

And there is not one government propaganda news spewer that would dare question the official narrative that the shooting was 'justified'.   No way in fuking heck would a cop get away with shooting a leftist protesters under identical circumstances, especially if the cop was not a fed.   I am so disgusted by the low-life bootlicking lying fuks.

Capitol Police exonerated him.  Any independant organization of experts in police misconduct would have hung the bastard.

..

The shooting was investigated by USCP, the DOJ, and DCPD. All of them found him blameless. Probably the Deep State! 😂

But let one Black get shot and killed by a Police Officer while rioting. The Dems would be out of their minds.

That right there should have gotten him fired. And then leaving his service weapon unattended? He's a loose cannon, obviously.

They weren’t just “stolen vehicles fleeing,” he claims the vehicles tried to hit him, and the investigation “found insufficient evidence he violated the truthfulness policy.”  Here is the full letter:

Why did she break the window to a barricaded door and climb through it?

The three incidents mentioned prior to Jan 6 don’t seem that bad, at least not enough to give any evidence that this was “murder,” especially since it was his first time in 28 years that he fired his weapon on the job.  So he

-shot at criminals he thought were trying to kill him

-accidentally left his gun in a bathroom

-yelled at another cop at a football game

If those things make someone a murderer then there are millions of murderers out there.

I’d be curious for more details about why he failed the background check to purchase the gun though.

oh and lol at “opening a window,” that’s like saying Trayvon Martin was just eating some skittles

Try leaving your weapon unattended while you're in the military and see what happens.  In military circles (including cops/FBI), forgetting your weapon and leaving it unattended in an open area is an ABSOLUTE cardinal sin and will/should get you in very hot water.  You brush it off as, "meh. not a big deal" but you're also the same crowd that cries about Americans even having guns to begin with so your hypocrisy shines right thru.  Leaving your weapon unattended - especially in a public area - is an absolute no-no.  Imagine one of those 2A guys walking around with their AR's to prove a point and one accidentally leaves it in the bathroom at Qdoba.  Don't tell me you wouldn't be for this guy not only losing his weapon permanently, but losing the ability to own one, a fine and/or some jail.

Also, remember the North Carolina cop that shot Walter Scott in the back while he was fleeing and everyone rightfully lost their sh#t?  In almost every state in the union you CANNOT shoot a fleeing suspect because at that point you are out of danger.  A fleeing vehicle is the same thing.  How this guy even survived keeping his job after that is unbelievable.  So you also gaffing this off is absurd and hypocritical.  If you lost your bacon over Walter Scott or George Floyd, you should be just as apoplectic about this.  Every gun owner knows you don't do this.

Yelling at a cop at a football game seems to be very unprofessional.

All in all, ALL of these incidents add up to a guy who should not be near a gun, much less on a police force.  Very unprofessional and a loose-cannon.

Obviously forgetting your gun is bad, but it’s more evidence of just being dumb, not a “loose cannon.”

The off duty shooting was not comparable to Walter Scott.   It says there was a bullet hole found near the gas cap, so he was still on the side of the vehicle.

Drop a dew canisters or put a pepperball in her chest and watch how fast that crowd disperses. A canister of pepper spray indoors is brutal

They didn't try any less lethal options indoors. FAIL

Dude, it's not just 'bad", it's a cardinal sin.  This will and should literally get you to lose rank and/or your job.  THAT is how bad that is.

The "loose cannon" part is shooting at a fleeing vehicle.

Just watched the video again. Byrd drew his weapon and issued several warnings. Babbitt climbed through the broken, barricaded doorway anyway, so he shot her.

Sorry she’s dead, but that woman wasn’t very bright.

When you watched your little video, did you see the officer deploy any non-lethals prior to pulling out his service weapon and killing her?

No, he should of popped her with a couple pepper balls first and tried a pepper spray canister. Then if that didn't work, fire away.

He sat there and watched the whole time, he was waiting for an excuse to kill her. His previous record proves he's a loose cannon.

Did you see the two dozen heavily armed police on the other side of the window.   The standard to use deadly force is an imminent danger to harm someone.   She poised no imminent threat to no one.  He could have shoved her back through the window or pulled her through and arrested her.  Side note, there were also three FBI agents standing right behind Ashli who could have also restrained her.

Byrd was fully exonerated by USCP, DOJ, and DCPD. There isn’t a police department in the country they would have found him at fault.

Sorry Babbitt is dead but she only has herself to blame. Not a bright woman it seems. :(

Leaving your gun in a public place, most commonly a bathroom as they take them off to crap, is not "just being dumb" .  It is the height of reckless behavior.  Officers are responsible at all times to be in control of their weapons.  In the Department I represented this would have been punished by reduction in rank and 40 hours unpaid suspension.

As for shooting at a car as if to get it to stop that only works in the movies.  I know, we have seen the scene a hundred times.  The rebel detective shoots at the oncoming car causing it to launch into the air, do a barrel roll, and burst into flame.  The reality is that  a 180 rain bullet will not stop a two tome vehicle, nor will it launch that vehicle into the air.  What it might do is kill or disable the driver who cannot then control the vehicle allowing it to careen into the bus of handicapped kids being driven by an elderly nun.  Shooting at a moving vehicle in the Department I represented would get you dismissed from the force.

You forgot the part where the bus then crashes into a Chinese fireworks factory, causing all the Chinamen to comically scatter while the building erupts into a massive fireworks display.

The same DOJ who use J6 as a political tool?  The Capitol Police who Byrd works for.   The bullcrap exinerations mean nothing compared to what is clearly on film.  I don't need the feds to tell me what i can see with my own eyes.  The DOJ not trying to find out who planted the two pipe bombs (phoney FBI props) tell me all I need to know about those fukers.  J6 was 100 percent political show.

There are exceptions where shooting at a moving  vehicle is accepted. A fleeing stolen car is not one of them.

Babbitt got herself killed and Byrd was exonerated. Advancing on a cop who has his gun drawn and has warned you multiple times to stop is likely to get you killed.

RIP. Babbitt may have been a good lady but she was not a bright woman. :(

So it was, then, more than "just being dumb", it was an actionable violation of Departmental Directives.  If his Department had a policy of progressive discipline, which most do, likely his next violation would have lead to termination if not at least demotion, a lengthy suspension, and mandatory retraining and requailification and then an assignment to non-essential duties and a total restriction on secondary employment.

Couldn't be farther from the truth. Cops are the last to get the benefit of doubt.

There are rules of engagement. Especially when firing upon unarmed civilians. The rule is YOU DON'T. Back to the discussion of non-lethal vs lethal.

A cop can shoot someone when they have probable cause to believe the suspect poses an imminent threat of serious bodily harm.

This situation meets that to everyone except people who are crazy.
