He was five feet from her and hit her in the neck. He's lucky he didn't hit anybody else. Dumbfock couldn't hit center mass from five feet away.

Why was he the only idiot who discharged a weapon that day?

It wasn't because he was in any danger. It's because he was a scared sh!tless, incompetent, moron who should've been fired years ago.

In other sections of the portion of the building cops or whoever they were had weapons drawn pointed at the doors. They were barricaded and the nut bags couldn’t get in.

Here’s a dude who was there. Not a bunch of people sitting around watching the videos.

And none of them negligently discharged their weapons and needlessly murdered an innocent civilian.

Thanks for proving my point.

You’re an idiot. Frankly it’s a damn miracle only one person was shot that day. And I’m glad that others weren’t — don’t get me wrong — but when a violent mob storms the Capitol, yeah I’d generally predict a little more bloodshed

The psychos weren’t able to crawl through the windows in those spots or they also would have been put down.

This MAGA dude, who was going to vote for this stolen election bullshit, who was there is telling you what’s up.

First unarmed insurrection in the history of ever and you're calling me a focking idiot. :doh:

This retard shouldn't have had his finger on the trigger. He pointed his gun, she stopped advancing. Absolutely no reason to pull the trigger in that situation.

It's ok, you can admit it.

That article was written by a Leftist hack.  My favorite part:

Byrd said he felt pain in his throat for days afterward from yelling at the protesters to stop and step back as they pounded on the glass doors.

Poor baby…. He hurt his throat yelling.  Another casualty of the armed insurrection. 😆

OK, my bad. I thought she was already in the door/window and then stopped.

He still didnt have any reason to fire on her at that point. She wasn't an immediate threat to him or anybody else.

A mob is busting the doors out, breaking out the windows in front of you, then someone from that mobs climbs through the broken window? Sorry that can get you shot.

Again the MAGA congressman (now Senator) who was in the area that was barricaded thanked the guy and put the blame on the crazy person.

That sh!t will get you arrested here. I can't shoot an unarmed person inside my house without getting arrested.

She wasn't armed, she wasn't a threat that required deadly force.

To be fair, I don't think he meant to shoot her. I think he had terrible trigger discipline and negligently discharged his firearm in a moment of panick.

Given his horrendous track record with firearm safety, he shouldn't have had a firearm to begin with. He should've been relegated to an unarmed greeter position if they didn't want to shitcan him like they should've.

The powers that be knew that and claimed the shooting was justified to save themselves from a lawsuit that they absolutely would've lost in any court of law outside of D.C.

I can't shoot them if they're already in the house if I "have an opportunity to retreat." And if they cut their hand crawling through my window, they can sue me.

California sucks

Cops always get the benefit of the doubt due to their job. This shooting absolutely meets benefit of the doubt.

It blows my mind how this is controversial.

Couldn't be farther from the truth. Cops are the last to get the benefit of doubt.

There are rules of engagement. Especially when firing upon unarmed civilians. The rule is YOU DON'T. Back to the discussion of non-lethal vs lethal.

He is such a dumbass.  A cop shoots a black or leftist man  and the lynch mob is on the streets within hours.    Shoot a helpless unarmed conservative woman and and the bootlicking bastards want to give the cop the congressional medal of honor.   I am so done with these dumbasses.

Unbelievable.  This cop is no hero and yet the MSM took the side of the loose-cannon cop where in ALL other instances have taken the side of the victim (i.e. george floyd, etc...):

https://tennesseestar.com/justice/officer-who-fatally-shot-j6-protestor-ashley-babbitt-has-lengthy-disciplinary-record/jtnews/2024/11/21/

https://jonathanturley.org/2024/11/21/report-the-officer-who-killed-ashli-babbitt-had-a-long-history-of-disciplinary-and-training-problems/comment-page-1/

The incidents described in Loudermilk’s letter are corroborated by congressional records and police reports that date as early as 2004 including:

  • A 2004 incident where Byrd, who was off duty, fired his weapon at a stolen vehicle as it was fleeing his residential neighborhood;
  • A 2015 “conduct unbecoming an officer” complaint filed by a fellow officer after Byrd, again off duty, confronted him while the officer was working at a high school football game in an incident with racial overtones;
  • A 33-day suspension in 2019 after Byrd left his service weapon unattended in a public Capitol Hill bathroom;
  • A failure to pass a routine background check shortly after Jan. 6 when attempting to purchase a shotgun for home protection, after the USCP worked to provide Byrd a department-issued shotgun instead, he failed the training; and
  • Three further referrals to the Capitol Police Office of Professional Responsibility for which records are reportedly missing.

This guy shouldn't have been on the force, much less been there to shoot someone opening a window.

The three incidents mentioned prior to Jan 6 don’t seem that bad, at least not enough to give any evidence that this was “murder,” especially since it was his first time in 28 years that he fired his weapon on the job.  So he

-shot at criminals he thought were trying to kill him

-accidentally left his gun in a bathroom

-yelled at another cop at a football game

If those things make someone a murderer then there are millions of murderers out there.

I’d be curious for more details about why he failed the background check to purchase the gun though.

oh and lol at “opening a window,” that’s like saying Trayvon Martin was just eating some skittles

"A 2004 incident where Byrd, who was off duty, fired his weapon at a stolen vehicle as it was fleeing his residential neighborhood".

That right there should have gotten him fired. And then leaving his service weapon unattended? He's a loose cannon, obviously.

She was unarmed and not a threat. Deadly force was not necessary.

That's what matters.
