If you reply to them, you're a troll. If they reply to you, they aren't trolls. It's called liberal "logic".

BOOM

From the Boss to Putin

I’m not looking to hurt Russia. I love the Russian people, and always had a very good relationship with President Putin - and this despite the Radical Left’s Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX. We must never forget that Russia helped us win the Second World War, losing almost 60,000,000 lives in the process. All of that being said, I’m going to do Russia, whose Economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big FAVOR. Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. If we don’t make a “deal,” and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries. Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way - and the easy way is always better. It’s time to “MAKE A DEAL.” NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!

See this I don’t mind- except that I think @TrailGuy is right that we already have huge tariffs on Russia so I don’t know if it will make a difference.

But I very much like that he is putting pressure on Putin to stop the war and not on Ukraine- at least not yet. But no details are provided- is he just expecting Russia to retreat? Is he willing to allow Russia to keep some of the lands they have seized? (Zelensky won’t agree to that.) Not sure how this plays out…

Not tariffs, sanctions.  We don't import sh1t from Russia and we can't tax Russia at all.

Trump is dumb and you're not far behind.

Idiot MAGAturds here don't know how tariffs work.

If Chipotle needs a bunch of avacados and imports them from Mexico, a Chipotle rep at the border pays the tariff to customs. Neither Mexico nor the avacado grower pay the tariffs.

Then Chipotle passing along the extra cost to consumers.

It causes inflation.

Quote

Tariffs are almost never paid by anyone in the country that the tariff applies to. Tariffs on Chinese goods, for example, are not paid by Chinese firms; they’re paid by American importers doing business with China. To this end, tariffs impact trade indirectly — if you’re an American importer, it’s more attractive to you to switch to importing steel from South Korea right now, because as of writing, you’ll avoid steel tariffs. Eventually, if enough American importers switch suppliers, the tariffs will have an impact on a country’s trade revenue.

So, basically: if you’re importing a good that is subject to tariffs, you pay those tariffs in the form of duty to Customs and Border Protection. That’s that! Tariffs on country of origin mean American importers need to double check that they’re paying the new rate.

Nothing like getting opinionated comments from Canadians on US tariffs. Next up, the Chinese want to weigh in. And then the Mexicans. Keep up.the good work "Rusty".    😆

Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Adam Lewis is the founder and president of Clearit USA Customs Brokers. Earl "Rusty" Pancrazio is the Chief Technical Officer. Leigh Carter is the Vice President of US Operations.

I don't know how much trade we do with Colombia but we have our first tariffs.

25% on both sides. Trump sets first and Colombia retaliates.

So dumb.

Boy you sure know how to focus on priorities. Many small businesses are going to be seriously hurt by this idiotic decision by Trump. But let’s talk about how many aliases somebody has.

There’s plenty of jobs out there. You’re going to need another man to mow your lawn and do other masculine chores once the illegals go home.  They’ll be ok.

Aint happening. There are 11 million undocumented people here. Less than one million are violent criminals (I think a LOT less). Most of the rest aren’t going anywhere.

Looks like Colombia has come to its senses.

They came to their senses when they refused to allow the plane to land. This isn’t on them.
They may surrender (who knows?) but if they do, the loss of face will anger their public enough that they will no longer be our staunch ally and trading partner. Trump’s bullying is incredibly short-sided, incredibly stupid.

They came to their senses by refusing to take their citizens back?  That’s nonsense and not something an ally would do.

Tim's right. I wouldn't want them back either. Columbia dumped them on Biden fair-and-square.

Have you ever played the card game 'Old Maid" before?

Of course they didn't want them back, who would?  However, it appears they figured the game out and took corrective action.  If their leader needs to save face by saying there was some technicality on why they were first refusing them that's fine.  The end result is all that matters.

I know you guys think this is a big victory: Trump got tough and Colombia surrendered. Big Alpha, right?

Colombia didn’t have much choice. We are much more powerful and they rely on our trade. A lot of these small countries do and if we want to bully them we can. The reason that previous Presidents haven’t done it is not due to weakness but because it’s extremely unwise. It creates all kinds of resentment and almost guarantees enmity and lack of cooperation when we need it. Theodore Roosevelt used to say “talk softly and carry a big stick”- Trump apparently wants to talk loudly and threaten using the stick. The consequences are hard to predict but won’t be good.

You're extremely naive.

What's the point of power if you never use it because it'll make the people weaker than you upset?  Guess what?  They'll always be upset - whether we exercise our power or not.  And whether you think they are an ally or not, if they had the power to do so, they would take what we have.

You guys are way too worried about what other countries think.

I laugh at Tim's post because if you don't think those socialists and Marxist countries wouldn't use their position get their way you are severely ignorant.

You can rest assured that if they were powerful enough, they would try to destroy the United States, which is all of these socialists and Marxist countries goal.
