Are you guys approaching the Christmas games with caution?

Recommended Posts

I'm concerned about these games.  Especially the road teams.

They are asking teams that played Sunday to travel presumably on Tuesday to play Wednesday.  This is nuts to me.

Not to mention the Steelers and Texans both were on the road week 16, and are now travelling again.  I don't understand how players are going to have time to get treatment, and I assume they just don't practice or install a game plan at all.

For me that means I might sit Joe Mixon for Jerome Ford.  Thankfully, that's my only key Christmas day player.

It’s ridiculous that they will be playing football with so little rest.

Shows once again the true lack of concern the nfl has for their players.  Indeed

The other thing to be aware of...

Since it's the last week of the year, I go in and drop all my handcuffs and basically convert my roster to the guys I think will be good week 17 and week 17 only.

Well, I know I'm not playing Russell Wilson, but due to the Wednesday games, ESPN wouldn't let me put him as a drop for waivers, so I had to pre-drop dangeRuss to free up the roster spot.

Moral of the story is that if you know you aren't playing a guy in these Wednesday games and may want to use that roster spot, make sure to drop them before the games start tomorrow.

I forgot about that.  That makes me rethink benching mixon for Ford.

Pickens is returning, Wilson might be a good play.

Well, they played Saturday first of all. So that's the same timeframe as playing Sunday and then Thursday. So these two games are like a TNF game. And so yes, I would approach them with that level of caution.

I'm staring Mixon because never bench your stud.  That being said my only other decent option would be Montgomery and he's injured.

" Leagues that have two day or greater waiver periods, please be aware that PIT, HOU, KC and BAL players will not clear waivers before they play on December 25th "

ESPN has that at the top of the page for my team 🤣

What a joke

This time of year, you should always approach with some caution.

there are now some playoff teams that literally have nothing to play for.     so when looking at matchups I try to pick players on teams that have games that matter.   When the result does not matter, there is always the risk that the team tries an unorthodox game plan to test out a few new plays.   Try to throw the scouts watching them off the scent of what they will do come playoff time.

lots of games within the game.

these are the scenarios to avoid if you can.
