So they rose as much as 0.9% overnight but is up 80% compared to same period as last year. I wonder why?? The outlook for a smaller coffee crop in Brazil sent prices soaring after Volcafe on December 17 cut its 2025/26 Brazil arabica coffee production estimate to 34.4 million bags, down by about 11 million bags from a September estimate after a crop tour revealed the severity of an extended drought in Brazil. “there is an arabica coffee drought affecting global supplies, particularly centered around Brazil, the world's largest arabica producer. The drought conditions in Brazil have led to significantly reduced arabica coffee production estimates for the 2025/26 season, with various sources reporting a decrease in production due to extended dry weather and the impact of El Niño. This has been compounded by similar issues in other major coffee-producing countries like Vietnam, further tightening global supplies. The severity of the drought is reflected in the market, with arabica coffee prices reaching record highs in early 2025, driven by supply concerns and fund buying. This situation has been highlighted by various reports and market analyses, indicating a global arabica coffee deficit for the fifth consecutive year, with forecasts suggesting a worsening scenario for the 2025/26 season compared to previous years.[](https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/arabica-coffee-climbs-record-high-supply-woes)[](https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/arabica-coffee-rallies-record-high-tight-supplies)[](https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/arabica-coffee-posts-new-record-high-supply-fears-linger) but Trump oh boyo

Tell him to get back to us with foriegn aid requests when the money given does not come from an unbalanced budget helping to create and expand a national debt, the interest of which is hamstringing us from addressing our own problems and which will be an anchor around the necks of our children and grandchildren. Democrats always think of money in magic terms, like the supply is unlimited and there will never be a reckoning. BTW, Republicans are nearly as irresponsible with the people's money. Everything a nation does should be to advance the prosperity of that nation. Every other country gets that. However, the United States seems to think that just giving away stuff for free and getting nothing in return but likes is good foreign policy. I get the concept. Have them rely on the US so they don't rely on China and Russia, but these countries are all double dealing jackballs that are going to shank us the first chance they get either way. Great, and they won't want to be US allies if we don't give them billions. And in case a war breaks out in their countries, the world would prefer Russia and China to watch over them and give them billions. Got it.
