Trade deal incoming with the UK.  One of the few countries we actually had a trade surplus with

Hopefully this is the victory declaration that allows him to drop all the tariffs.

Maybe it means little girls can now have 3 dolls and 7 pencils.

Good news for the US is bad news for clowns like gutter.

Yes. Trump wouldn’t do it if it weren’t. Also jaguars are ghey, but now you won’t have to pay as much. Happy?

Weird, I was responding to gutter who was whining like a woman before the details were released. And... This is your response.

Next time, cupcake, maybe you should start with gutter.

Any trade agreement with a major partner that lowers tariffs will benefit the USA. I don’t think this will be especially significant compared to China and the Pacific Rim nations, but it should still be a benefit.

It’s just amazing to consider how much more prosperous we would be right now if Trump hadn’t killed the Trans Pacific Partnership during his first term. I doubt whatever deals we get trying to extricate ourselves from this current disaster will be anywhere close to the benefits we would have received from that one. The TPP literally took decades to negotiate, it would have forced China to make all the concessions we desire simply in order to compete. Trump destroyed it with the stroke of a pen. So stupid.

From what I've read it's not a deal it's just a framework which includes  the 10% tariff.  We'll wait and see but I'm not optimistic for anything that comes out of that idiots mouth.

if he destroyed it with a stroke of a pen it probably was not ratified by congress?

That’s a good point if you’re right. Hoping it’s more than that but it wouldn’t surprise me if you’re correct about this.

If Canada isn’t a major trading partner, then UK is like a corner bodega selling gum. Fancy, hoity toity gum though.

Yeah, just another concept of a plan so far. We'll see about all that.

I'll give him props if this is something that will benefit the United States, which is something MAGAturds have been incapable of doing regarding the accomplishments of anyone to the left of themselves.

Biden's infrastructure plan, for example, is great, all nitpicking aside.

Ford Motor on Wednesday said it is raising prices on three models produced in Mexico, pointing to higher U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles as one reason for the adjustment.

The vehicles subject to the price increases of up to $2,000 per model include the Maverick, Bronco Sport and Mach-E, Ford said in a statement to CBS News.

The point is that those manufacturing jobs from the time President Archie Bunker likes to pine over were only worthwhile because they were unionized.

gutter just stated that a trade deal with the UK, whom apparently we have trade surplus with would hopefully lead to tariffs in general coming down. that's not whining. you claimed it was good for the US. probably cause any doubt of Trumps trade deals turns you into cupcake.

Which would be more expensive, resulting in the costs passed along to the consumers.

What benefits U.S. consumers' pocketbooks is making the cars cheaper elsewhere and not having tariffs.

As it is, the consumers get fukked either way.

These tariffs were poorly thought through.

We can't just snap our fingers and make doll factories and auto plans magically appear. This would take years, and we might not even have the labor to fill the jobs.

Tariffs only deepened the Great Depression in the 1930s. Tariffs with Nazi Germany only worsened their economy.

Time and time again, tariffs have failed, and they're typically associated with leaders who think they're putting their country first.

Big whoopee fukking do that we have a concept of a plan for a deal with the United Kingdom.

Check this out:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_trading_partners_of_the_United_States

Great Britain is our No. 8 trading partner, but notice that it's one of only five of our 20 biggest trading partners for which we export more to them than we import, so a deal with them won't be nearly as beneficial as it would be with other countries such as China and the European Union.

Wow. I don’t agree with any of this. Who gets to decide what is luxury or not?

If the car now costs thousands more to produce and doesn’t sell they will just stop making it.

no they will cut their profits to sell cars

a NEW car is ALWAYS a luxury and a STUPID purchase

that being said, I can afford it and don't worry about it, but if you don't have that luxury goto carmax
