Don't worry. Now that you were laid off you can sell your nose ring collection. There are lots of other gays out there that still have jobs.

Been in the works with their new CEO.  Has everything to do with old school wokeness being removed in favor of efficiency and profit.

Looks like they had a glut of people in "corporate support" positions.  Perhaps a few DEI folks?  Also some pretend corporate finance execs?

Quote

As of last September, Starbucks employed around 361,000 workers globally and 211,000 in the US. A majority of staff are in-store employees who will not be impacted by this layoff.

Rather, the layoffs will affect those in Starbucks' 16,000 corporate support roles. Employees who work in roasting, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations, which are also considered corporate support, will not be impacted.

Every time a company had layoffs last year there were like 3 threads about Biden’s Economy 😂

Well, now that that they don't let the homeless use the bathrooms, probably don't need as many people to clean them(the bathrooms, not the homeless).

Then why worry about people “losing their minds” about this?

No outrage, they aren't federal workers.

Seems like people are only outraged about federal lay offs.

I assume the Starbucks people are upset they lost their jobs. Is that the outrage people are taking about?

I think there is a difference with a career civil service employee who has been there for years (in some cases decades) being let go only because they are not a Republican or Trump loyalist and a barista at the local Starbucks.

We know that they are being laid off because they didn't vote for Trump?

Not for certain but what I have seen Republicans and known Trump supporters seem to be making the cut, while Democrats or appointees by prior a Democrat POTUS have not.

Then you can't say that all of these federal workers are being let go because of their political affiliation; you don't know.

So I go and lose my job of 30 plus years with a large financial firm, but no one feels bad. I just need to "work harder" or "go get a new job."

But these federal employees it's just.....different?

Did you even read the story?

He's literally griping about political appointees being shown the door.  Which is what every new administration does.  But it's only bad if the other side does it.

Ugh

I think you are misplacing your hatred.  The Republicans are the party of "just work harder" and "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" and "probably DEI anyway".  It's liberals that have empathy.

I'm assuming you are female which means you are a DEI hire anyway.

Didn't say that I did and I doubt that politics played into the mix of the barista's laid off.

How can you doubt it?  What evidence do you have?  You're quick to judge the federal layoffs, with absolutely no evidence, yet you can't do it here.

Weird....I am willing to bet liberals running companies have laid off people.   I'm not gonna look it up, but I am pretty sure that's the case.  I guess at least those folks out of a job were laid off with empathy

What is the point of this thread?  Are you magas trying to justify Musk's dismantling of the govt?  Starbucks lays people off therefore it's OK that the govt does?  Libs don't care about starbucks so why should maga care about federal employees?

I don't quite get the angle here?

Who the hell knows? Definite logic fail here in this attempted analogy.

So all government employees should have their jobs guaranteed for life no matter what they do or don't do. And should never have to answer for what they do on a daily basis. 😆

Oh you poor liberals.

Didn't say that.  It's all about the process, justification and humanity.

These cuts are not to save money.

Ugh...Are you guys just slow witted or something?  I have seen numerous interviews and stories about the poor federal workers laid off, but none by your beloved media for these.  Why is your media only focusing on the federal jobs?  Do they have some sort of agenda to do so?
