Also, just to clarify, I'm not against Ukraine.  I certainly think we should support them and give nothing to Putin but at some point reality has to kick in on the situation.  Americans are not going to fight over in Ukraine so it's either Europe or nobody that has to give them the manpower to overcome Russia.  Just like the US finally gave up in Vietnam and Afghanistan, if Ukraine can't end this thing decisively - and pure math says they won't - then there will have to be concessions somewhere.

Calling Zelensky an ungrateful or spoiled child is an amazing distortion. We’re talking about a guy whose country has been brutally invaded, who is facing an enemy who bombs hospitals and schools and slaughters thousands of innocent people. There is no difference, in terms of good and evil, between Putin and Hamas. I wish some of you could show the moral clarity in this situation that you do with Israel. I’ve yet to hear any of you call Netanyahu a spoiled ungrateful child and we have given him far more aid than Zelensky.

Clearly you only read a small portion of my post.  I implore you to read what I wrote instead of letting your hysterical emotions take over.

Also, this moral high ground you on the left take all the time with EVERY argument is why you lost in the first place.  There is nuance and gray areas here and it's ok for people to have different opinions - something the left doesn't handle very well so they use the "moral high ground" argument.  It's okay to criticize Zalinski and still NOT support Putin.

I don’t disagree with your second paragraph. Yes a deal will be done and yes Ukraine will have to make concessions. I think Zelensky recognizes that as well. My disagreement with you is not about this end result but about exactly who was at fault for the blow up yesterday. I say Trump and Vance; I think it was embarrassing. 
 

Russia will have to make some concessions too. Does Trump get this? He doesn’t act like he does. His tirade yesterday in which he talked about Putin being a victim of Hillary and Schiff was probably the most embarrassing moment.

Russia may have to make some concessions, yes, but they have the stronger hand by shear numbers.

As far as whose fault the blow up is, I guess we could assign some blame to both sides but that doesn't do anything other than make us feel better.  Ultimately, what was said yesterday should have been behind closed doors and we even have reports of Biden getting into it with Zielinski, albeit in private, so this isn't something new other than it being broadcast.

I still have no idea what Zelensky said that was disrespectful or insulting. I’ve watched it several times now. Vance and Trump were incredibly rude, kept interrupting, bullying, told one outright lie after another. Zelensky mostly just sat there and took it.

Would you guys stop with this veiled threat thing? All Zelensky said, pretty mildly, is that he doesn’t believe Putin will stop with Ukraine and that Putin’s designs on Europe is a threat to our national security. Zelensky said the exact same thing 6 months ago before a joint session of Congress and received a standing ovation. It’s his public position. You guys (and Trump) act like it was something new, and insulting to us.

Good post.  I’m not against Ukraine either. Russia was clearly the aggressor and they were out of line. But how can anyone have trouble with a US president trying to end a war and all the senses killing that’s going on?  That’s all Trump is trying to do here.  The war pigs in Europe and the Democrats in the US don’t want peace.  They simply don’t.
