Who cares what he meant? I know there are plenty of blacks that will steer their kids towards other black athletes.
I’m sure most Asian baseball fans when buying a jersey get Ohtani. BFD.

Pretty much.  And can we quit with this  slap fest in a NFL thread?  I know there isnt a thread that is sacred here but lets not do this lightly trafficed message bored rivalry here.  I know people cant help themseleves but come on.

Yeah, let's keep politics out of Football @Ron_Artest And take Fantasy Football talk to the Fantasy Football section.

Carter. If they take Sanders at 3 I’m going to become a chargers fan.

This guy knew. He usually does.

⬆️ Thought Sanders was a possibility at 3 but there was “no way” he’d go in the late first.

🤡

Yeah.   None of the teams 22-32 needed a QB. Thats the end of the first. You’re so desperate. I’m so right.

If only you knew anything about football. You even suck at fantasy football. I've seen your dopey takes in the past. You are wrong about 100% of the time on average.

@seafoam1  What are your thoughts on the Bear's draft?

Liked it. It's funny that teams before the draft often talk about letting the draft come to them and take best player available, but then always seem to abandon it. Looks like for the first time in a long while the Bears actually did that. The first round pick was no surprise to me. Loveland was the best available AND they wanted a tight end. Perfect fit.

Their 2nd round pick was crazy. I'm shocked Burden fell to 39. Him and the their last pick of the draft were way best value guys. The top four ranked RBS were gone and they didn't overdraft at that spot. I'm glad they didn't overdraft at that spot. That's a testament to Ben Johnson I think. He's a guy who just says "give me good players and I'll figure out how to use them".

I'm glad they got 2 more oline guys after going big in the offseason on the line.Depth is so key. And they may have even gotten a new starting tackle in Trapilo out of it if not at least an impressive swing tackle if Jones can come back healthy in time.

I didn't have guys who I was rooting for getting taken by them in this draft. I figured it's Johnson's first draft with them and let's see how he does.

I'm really happy with it personally. How about yourself?

I was surprised by some of the pics but I put my faith in the staff.  They know far more than me.  The offense looks incredible on paper right now but I worry some about the defense.

With some good coaching we should finally see the playoffs sooner than later.

A lot of confusion in that Bears war room apparently. WTF were they thinking?

Doesn’t need its own thread so I’m gonna put this here. I just met Delton Hall at Charlotte Douglas International on a layover. Was having a beer chit chatting and he’s like yeah I used to play in the NFL for the Steelers. Pretty cool.

I didn’t love the Bears drafting a TE and WR with their first 2 picks, but doubling up on OT in round 2 was really smart.

Not really. They just wanted an RB in the first two rounds but had to switch it up because who they wanted was off the board. That happens to all teams at different points of the draft.

Bears did a great job of staying the course.

They had the draft capital to move up for a RB, which was a major need. Luther Burden, WTF are they thinking there?

They're trying hard to sign Nick Chubb.

No point overpaying for an RB unless that is the only need you have. Plus, the fact that their RBs were not great last year was the fault of that oline. They were absolutely one of the worst in the league. Swift had his worst year in the league because of that.

And Burden was a stellar pick at that point in the draft. Ben Johnson said it himself, he's not bringing Detroit's offense to Chicago, he's going to create an new offense around his best players that he's got now. As a Bears fan, given what a mess their coaching has been over the past years, all there is left is to have faith in their current staff and see how they do.

Not that this guy's opinion is all that big of a deal, but he feels the same way I do about Burden:

ESPN's Matt Miller has named Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden lll the best pick of the 2025  NFL Draft. He chose Burden as his top-ranked receiver and 13th-best player overall. Miller highlighted Burden's "terrific" yards-after-catch ability and the Bears' new head coach, Ben Johnson's, scheme, which is known for creating space for receivers.

At around midnight on Friday when you posted this I was having a few beers and watching TV with my wife.

The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles have earned a little trust. They’ve won three NFCCGs and two chips in the past eight years, something Dallas hasn’t done since the Clinton administration.

I don't really see RB as a major need.  Swift is a good RB and we have yet to see the full capabilities of Roschon Johnson.  They just brought in Jamaal Williams for a workout as well.  I don't think the rookie from Rutgers is a slouch either.  That kid can block in pass protection.

It’s not “material” if it’s true. :dunno:

I’m not at work and wasn’t thinking about HT til he pulled up a days old post to make a crack about my wife.

I’ll assume Mrs. HT is a sweet lady despite her terrible taste in men. But the fact that hubby needs Viagra and spends all day and night swordfighting with men online isn’t painting a pretty picture.

Either she’s a pig or he’s low T. Maybe both.

In other news Gabe Davis released.  He will cost 19 mill in dead cap over next 2 years.  Teams take dead cap on former good players.  But amazing to have to eat that for Gabe focking Davis.  What a shltshow of a signing that was by the Jags.

Pretty much.  I didnt mind the guy.  But hed make a great sideline catch then drop easy ones.  Often banged up.  Couldnt get open.  Its amazing what teams are willing to pay FA WRs who have done very little.

Won’t be surprised if he gets a shot with the Giants. Schoen/ Daboll.

Giants have no interest in Davis.  They already have a better version of the same player in Slayton and a worse version in Hyatt.
