squistion 2,201 Posted March 28 I went through the 6.7 quake in Northridge in 1994 and thought the building I was in was coming down. Can't imagine what an 8.2 would be like: https://x.com/EdKrassen/status/1905580229109629116 (video clip at link) BREAKING: A powerful 8.2 earthquake struck central Myanmar today, with significant impacts felt across the region. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) initially reported the quake at a magnitude of 7.7, though it has since been upgraded to 8.2. Death totals could be in the hundreds. The epicenter was located approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) north-northwest of Sagaing, a city near Mandalay, at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles). Fnord 2,266 Posted March 28 Final tallies of casualties for this might be ugly. Some very densely populated areas close to the epicenter. They felt shaking in Bangkok almost 700 miles away.

That was a 5.8 and it felt like being in a smooth rocking boat… I can’t imagine what an 8.2 feels like…. Hoping for the best there…

I remember when mdc went to New York City for like 2 days and would walk a block from his hotel to somewhere and back once a day and he would report each day on this site how he didn't see any crime. So it's not happening. Why he went to NYC to sit on this site all day, I'll never know, but that's beside the point. 1

If you go through a major quake that thought crosses your mind. I wasn't that far the epicenter of the 1994 Northridge CA quake and live in a 3 story townhouse (garage bottom level/kitchen, dining room, living room 2nd level/bedrooms 3rd top level) that is built on a slope. The quake hit about 2AM in the morning and I just happened to be awake and heard it coming before I felt anything, giving me time to jump out of bed and run into the master bedroom walk-in closet. It didn't start out that bad, but then kept getting worse with the building swaying 2-3 feet in each direction (or so it seemed). I remember thinking that if I was buried in the rubble, I hoped that the rescue dogs and their handlers would find me.

It is very apparent what my message was in my post. Liberals going out of their way to turn a blind eye to what is really going on. But that's fine. As far as me caring what I care about or not, why do you have any interest in trying to somehow make me out to be something I am not? I've never lived in Nebraska, but if I did, I'm sure I would be just as well put together as I am where I am now and be happy. Just because I do have interest in the image and reality of what's going on this country, doesn't mean I'm living a life below your bottom feeder IQ. I have lived in Chicago (I have 50+ first cousins there, aunts and uncles, etc) it was my home for many early years. NYC? I have immediate family that lives there. I have brothers and sisters in California (south and north), Colorado, Illinois, Connecticut, and Florida. I lived in and made friends in Chicago Illinois, Albuquerque New Mexico, St. Pete Florida, KC Missouri, Hartford Connecticut, Boston Mass, Annapolis Maryland, Baltimore Maryland, and have been in a fantasy football league for over 20 years with 11 others that live in Illinois, South Carolina, and Colorado, and we all reunite in person every year in person for our fantasy draft and to just hang out. I also have worked as a consultant spending 4 days a week for years at a time in places like Houston, Dallas, Detroit, New Orleans, Tampa, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Indianapolis in addition to other smaller cities throughout the US. Most importantly. I care about the US. It's global image, and it's domestic reality. So WHY DO I CARE? Because I do. Go on and defend the liberal idiots like mdc and the rest of your liberal party that go out of their way to lie about the reality of what is happening in the US. And I am sorry for your learning disabilities.

The New Madrid Fault near the junction of Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, etc., would be my pick for a sneaky mammyfooker earthquake. There was an earthquake in the early 1800s there that briefly made the Mississippi River run backward, and that scared the sheet out of a bunch of Indians who were about to attack some whities.
