There was more to it than simply "the deadline slipped by them" as I posted above and the article says.  You're cherry picking.  But what I get you saying is the journalist is just making stuff up.   Then we should discount the entire article.  Ok I'm good with that.  It's all made up sh*t.

There wasn’t much more to it, except one sentence before talking about the stillbirth.

Yes, I do tend to take things journalists say with a grain of salt, unless they are attributing direct quotes or providing links to primary sources.  Unlike you, who apparently will believe whatever a journalist writes.  Kinda like you did with the CBS News article about the kid in North Dakota which was proven false and you never admitted to believing fake news.

He went 10 years with both parties' administrations assuring him he was safe under the law and following the law.

Here’s wording from a different article, “suggesting” they weren’t aware of missing the form until after he was detained:

Savannah said she and her husband were told in April that his paperwork problem was with an application for removal of conditions on his residency – a form used by an immigrant married to a U.S. citizen.

Guys...Seriously.   You're making a huge deal out of this.  It's not gonna change anything.  If you're here illegally, you are eligible to be removed, period.  These one offs were expected.  Your media will find the examples they can to try to influence opinion.   It isn't working.

If it was a mistake, then OK.  That WILL happen.  In case you just fell outta the coconut tree, the government has and always will make mistakes.   When you guys post things like this and get as fired up as you do....do you think that these examples will some how change policy or change what the voters wanted?   What's the purpose?

Who freaking cares? He's illegally. Throw him  out.

Get on with your next whine. Everyone already  knows how you feel about this one.

I'm just gonna post/quote one of my first posts from this thread because it addresses both you and SID's posts:

Quote

Your own article suggests they knew they had a form due.  If it's unclear then my opinion on the issue is unclear as well.  And look I'm not making excuses for the government.  It would be nice if they would go the extra mile and say "hey you know you're overdue on xxx form.". But that's not the governments role or responsibility.  If you know you are supposed to file a form and don't that's on you.  I hope they get this case figured out and this guy gets to stay.  Maybe if the immigration system wasn't so overburdened with illegals they'd have the resources to be more helpful to people such as this.

And now I'm done until if/when more info comes out about this one.  C-Ya.

I think the fact that this guy was (is?) MAGA is interesting, because I’m sure some Trump voters thought the main point of getting rid of the illegals was to get rid of the ones committing crimes other than being here illegally.  I could see some independent voters being concerned about a guy that came here legally, was told he was on track to becoming a citizen, and had never been accused of any crime, being detained for a month over some paperwork.  Slippery slopes and all that.

Again.....Not sure the point of getting all in a tizzy over this.  MAGA, not MAGA, who cares.  And you are partially wrong, at least from my viewpoint.  i didn't just want the criminals out.  That was phase one and the most important phase.   But going beyond that, any and all illegals should not be here.   That being said, I don't need to round them up, once the criminals are gone.  But if you et pulled over for speeding and happen to be an illegal, better get ready to be flown  home.

I said some people, not all.  The ironic thing with this guy being MAGA is he was probably cheering when the Venezuelans were being rounded up, but didn’t know he’d be next.  It’s also interesting to me because many on the left might not come to this guy’s defense because of his beliefs.  But he certainly appears to be a better example to use than Abrego Garcia.

And what is the example going to do? Prove?  This has been my question from the beginning.  That the gubbermint makes mistakes?   Doubt that will be a real eye opener.

Slippery slopes.  For example, Trump only half-joking about sending the “homegrowns next” to El Salvador.   And there have been more reports of US Citizens being detained as well (here’s one posted yesterday : https://x.com/LongTimeHistory/status/1925671656304869665 ), fortunately they have been getting released faster but it’s not out of the question that that may change.  ICE going around wearing masks, it’s not really a great look IMO.

Left wing trash like Tim Hack and Saints didn’t have a thing to say when Laken Riley was brutally raped and murdered by an illegal.
