As the group was leaving the area, officers began establishing a perimeter of bike racks to keep the protesters away from the Capitol.

I do sometimes think back to the parades of my youth in small town America.  Grade school marching bands poorly playing John Phillip Souza songs, old vets marching wearing uniforms which no longer button around their bellies, Shriners in fezes driving little cars trying to not run into each other as they have had too much libation, kids decorating their bike with red, white, and blue crepe paper and riding along at the end.  We would attend and after I would wonder why.  Now it might seem nostalgic.
