At least one person was wounded in a shooting at a Michigan church before the gunman was shot dead by a security guard early Sunday morning, according to police and news reports.

The gunfire at Crosspointe Community Church in Wayne, Michigan, erupted shortly after 11 a.m., sending parishioners inside running for shelter, footage posted on X by BNO News shows.

What I found odd was that the church had an armed security staff.  Is this common practice these days?  I go to a small baptist church and not much anymore these days, but no security staff.  Sad that it's needed.

You're thinking of southern baptists.  I live in NJ and belong to an American Baptist Church, which we joined after we left the Catholic Church which was much too strict.  The Baptist Church we joined are much more relaxed about everything.  You have no idea what you're talking about as usual.
