Anybody ever get a DNA test for their pup?

Recommended Posts

My wife/son got me one (Embark) for our doggo on Father’s Day. He’s a hound mix from North Carolina we adopted 4 years ago. It takes 2-3 weeks to process and his DNA is at the lab now.

I can’t wait to find out what he is.

Yes.

I have a fully papered champion lab.

Came back something like 95% lab and 5% something like Rotty. Which was odd because her brothers and sisters from her litter had a full blood panel and they were 100% lab. It's been a long time and I can't find the actual results, but I was shocked.

I have her ACK and family tree and there's no Rotties going back a long way.

He's most likely Trans or Pansexual 🌈

My terrier/ dachshund mix killed a groundhog the other day. Grabbed it by the neck and went to town.  I picked it up with a shovel and put it in the pond. Not her first kill.

I have a pom/papillon mix.  Do I know it for sure?  No.  But I google the combo and a spitting imagine of my dog comes up.  Hes the best.  14.  :sadbanana:  Still has energy but has lost teeth/had to have a couple pulled.  Small dogs live a bit but at 14 I know the down and distance.

No.  My purebred champion Labrador doesn't need his DNA shared with anyone.

⬆️ Speaking of Pansexuals

Yes...  We got a free one when we adopted ours during Thanksgiving weekend in 2020...

The largest was 37.5% for a American Staffordshire Terrier...  Damn sweet dog...

Yes we used embark then wisdom panel because of the results. We adopted a black lab puppy from West Virginia. Turns out we have a 50% golden retriever and 50% American Staffordshire Terrior. It showed each parent was a purebred. He looks just like a black lab. We thought the results were whacky so we tried Wisdon panel and the results were the same

we we had the results online faster than they said

It's so easy to trigger these low IQ guys that have no life outside of posting to strangers online 24x7.

Poor posty. He's obsessed and hurting.

I had a dog named Snoppy. He was awesome. Focked everything. Including my leg.
