Make it make sense

There are 1,794 day care centers in MN.

1,235 of these list a Somali sounding name as the owner for 111,015 children.

Total Somali pop 84,000
Pct on welfare 81%

If the parents are not working, why do they need child care?

Do non-Somali children go to Somali speaking centers?

Somli scan site tracks Somali thieves in every state. Nice interactive map

lol is this saying that every company that got PPP loans or government grant is a scam?  Many don’t even appear to be Somali.  This site looks like they took over the domain from “c19ivm.org”

You can get welfare if you have a job.

I think a better question is with all these Somali-owned businesses, you’d think less would be on welfare.

Has it occurred to you that the poster of that tweet is just plain full of 💩? After he got questioned, he immediately admitted he didn’t include all daycare centers, and he got this from AI.

He decided to be racist, then put a bunch of parameters into an AI, changing them to get the answer he wanted. He also doesn’t comprehend the “capacity” of a daycare doesn’t mean they actually have that many kids. Racism + ignorance + laziness led to this baloney.

At least read the first few replies to these racist morons. They usually tell on themselves pretty quickly. Yet another 🤡 on X.

  • The post draws from Minnesota's public child care licensing data, estimating 1,235 of 1,794 centers have Somali-sounding owners serving 111,015 children, against a Somali population of about 64,000 (per 2025 Census estimates, lower than the post's 84,000 figure) and an 81% welfare participation rate linked to high poverty.
  • It questions subsidy legitimacy amid a 2025 fraud scandal where federal probes uncovered over $1 billion in misused child care payments by Somali-run providers, often involving ghost enrollments or self-care claims, leading to funding freezes and dozens of charges.
  • Replies amplify fraud allegations like payments for watching one's own children and ethnic silos excluding non-Somali kids, echoing a viral December 2025 video by influencer Nick Shirley that spurred national scrutiny and community break-ins targeting records.

Are these numbers verifiable?
The numbers cited in the post appear to stem from a mix of publicly available data sources, including Minnesota's child care licensing database, U.S. Census estimates, and reports from organizations like the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS). While not all figures match perfectly across sources due to methodological differences (e.g., how ancestry is defined or data is sampled), most can be verified or closely approximated through official records and investigations. Here's a breakdown:Somali Population in Minnesota
  • The post references around 84,000, while some analyses cite 64,000.
  • Recent U.S. Census American Community Survey estimates for 2024 (projected into 2025) put the number at approximately 107,000–108,000 people of Somali ancestry in Minnesota, with over 83,000 in the Twin Cities metro area.

    kttc.com +3
The CIS report estimates over 75,000, noting rapid growth from near zero in 1990.

Lower figures like 64,354 appear in some population reviews but seem based on older or narrower data (e.g., excluding U.S.-born descendants).
  • Verifiability: Yes, via Census data and reports. The exact number varies by source and definition, but 100,000+ aligns with the most current official estimates.
Welfare Participation Rate (81%)
  • This matches the CIS analysis of Somali-headed households in Minnesota, which found 81% consume some form of welfare (cash, food assistance, or Medicaid), compared to 21% for native households. Specific breakdowns include 27% on cash welfare, 54% on food stamps, and 73% with at least one member on Medicaid. For households with children, it's 89%.

    cis.org +1
This is linked to high poverty rates (52% of Somali children in poverty) and has been echoed in discussions around recent fraud scandals.

  • Verifiability: Yes, directly from the December 2025 CIS report, based on 2014–2023 data.

    facebook.com +2
Note that labor force participation for Somalis is around 70%, higher than the U.S. average, per some state analyses.

    empoweringstrategies.org +1
Number of Child Care Centers (1,235 of 1,794 with Somali-Sounding Owners)
  • Minnesota's Department of Human Services (DHS) maintains a public licensing database with searchable entries for child care centers (distinct from family-based providers). Recent reports indicate around 9,000–10,000 total licensed providers statewide (including both centers and family programs), but child care centers specifically number in the lower thousands.

    mn.gov +2
The 1,794 figure likely refers to active licensed child care centers, based on manual analysis of the DHS database for ownership names.
  • The claim of 1,235 with "Somali-sounding" owners aligns with allegations in the 2025 fraud investigations, where many implicated providers are Somali-run. A viral video by influencer Nick Shirley (viewed over 100 million times) highlighted similar patterns, visiting centers that appeared empty or nonoperational despite licenses and funding.

    npr.org +4
Shirley analyzed public data to allege fraud in dozens of centers, often Somali-owned, receiving millions via programs like the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
  • Verifiability: Partially—total centers can be queried from DHS data, but the "Somali-sounding" count requires name analysis, which has been replicated in independent reviews and scandals. Official probes confirm many Somali-run centers are under scrutiny.

I think it’s a safe bet there’s fraud happening in the video.  But if he visited like 10 places, I’d guess maybe 2 were frauds (the Learing Center might be my prime suspect).   Not good, but that’s far different than claiming any place that didn’t want to talk to him, or most Somalians, are frauds.

This isn’t all 100% verified but includes various screenshots as evidence:

It was previously reported that the Quality Learing Center used to be known as the Salama Child Care Center, which was raided by the FBI in 2015.  But it wasn’t initially clear if the Learing Center had the same owner.  The owner of the Salama Child Care center pled guilty.  It appears (edit) her sister still owns the entire building where the Learing Center is located, as well as the restaurant next door and an “adult daycare” a few miles down the same street.  This poster claims the restaurant supplies the food for the daycare, but that’s not totally clear to me.

Even the Star Tribune reported that 5 of the 10 daycares in the video also participated in Feeding our Future (but article paywalled so I haven’t read the whole thing).  That doesn’t mean they 100% committed fraud, but it’s obviously not a good look.  I do find it odd that most of the people replying to this tweet are accusing the paper of defending fraud, but they’re the first I’ve seen to link these some of these daycares to Feeding our Future, but maybe I missed it.

So yeah, the Learing Center is probably a fraud.  But a lot of these places are probably just milking an easy way to get government funding, but not necessarily illegal.  As Elon would call it, waste, just not necessarily fraud or abuse.

Wrong on the ownership Tim.  The original owner of salama child care, Fozia sheik Ali, was found guilty of fraud in 2018, served 2 years in jail, but has no connection with the current facility or building.

The current facility has previous violations, was last inspected this summer, but has never been found to be fraudulent.  Inspections and investigations should continue to confirm.

I originally saw reporting that Fozia and Fardowsa were the same person, but it looks like they’re sisters.  Not quite “no connection,” but I’ll update the prior post.

Where are all the non Somali Minnesota residents coming forward to say they used the day care facilities? There’s no way there are enough Somali kids to support all these facilities.

SBA suspends nearly 7,000 Minnesota borrowers over suspected $400M pandemic loan fraud

The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced Thursday that it suspended 6,900 Minnesota borrowers after uncovering what it says is widespread suspected fraud.

SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler said the agency reviewed thousands of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) loans approved in Minnesota, and identified nearly $400 million in potentially fraudulent loans tied to borrowers in Minnesota.

"These individuals will be banned from all SBA loan programs, including disaster loans, going forward," Loeffler wrote on X.

Yes I know this is just a random guy on twitter (so if it didn’t agree with @Strike’s opinion he wouldn’t believe it), but he has a lot of receipts.  He’s not publicly posting additional proof they are sisters but has posted this family photo:

The property changed hands from Fozia to a different sister (Nura) then to Fardowsa. Nura has also recently spoken out on X against Shirley:

The restaurant has recently made a statement saying they have no connection to the Learing Center, however this guy also found evidence of a “connection” where the Quality Learning Center is shown as the bill payer for the property taxes on the building.  Multiple people have found the connection from “Waldon Properties” to Fardowsa through a residential home in Washington state where she is listed as the owner.

One thing is certain, this family definitely has a higher IQ than people claim Somalians have.

🤣🤣 delusion.

Liberals are so far gone at this point they’re defending these Third World sand diggers, and convincing themselves that all of these places in Minnesota Chicago, Oregon, California, Missouri just happened to be run by Somali and are all getting money without kids being there. Oddly enough a lot of these daycare centers donate to politicians. Want to take a guess which party they donate to?

So they flock to sanctuary cities, they have to be represented in the government, the government then gives them millions to run these fake ass daycare centers and then they donate it back to them. This isn’t even 2+2. They aren’t even trying to hide it.

And if you’re asking me, if I think these goofballs just happened to come up with this themselves without any assistance whatsoever? Don’t.

OK even if we ignore the screenshots of public info, the fact that 5 of the 10 places were part of Feeding our Future is a huge red flag, and that was uncovered by the liberal local paper.  So I may have actually been low on my estimate on the number of fraudulent places from the video.  But I’d highly doubt it was all of them, and I of course disagree with the people taking this story to mean that all Somalians should be deported.
