With the first pick....

Recommended Posts

Struggling between Chase and Bijan.  12 team, .5PPR, modified keeper.

I will have Burrow on my team as a keeper (most keepers are later draft picks), but as much as I want to pick Chase, I'm worried that the drop off at the turn will be greater at RB than WR.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking Chase, because WR's have more long term staying power.  If you can keep on keeping Chase, that's probably better long term than giving him up and keeping Robinson.

Take the elite RB.  You can find catches later, but you can’t find a 300 touch RB later unless you get lucky or win the waiver game.

The answer depends on knowing your league and their drafting tendencies.  I'd lean towards Chase, but if your league drafts RBs early and often, go with Bijan.

I considered this, but I am of the mindset that RB's get hurt and are hurt by offenses/game plans more often, than WR's.  I'd rather keep the elite WR, 1) He's less likely to get hurt 2) Despite QB play and or system, he's going to get the ball (see Justin Jefferson w/Darnold, CeeDee Lamb w/Rush, Brian Thomas w/crap Du jour in JAX, Nabors w/crap Du jour in NY), and 3) Even in a down year, he's still likely to be a WR1... just not the WR1.

I don’t disagree.  I just feel like WRs are easier to find with how pass happy the league is.  That’s also why anchor RBs are scarce.  And kinda to your point, WRs will produce even with crap QBs.

Say that to Garrett Wilson.

You can find another Chase later??

You grab Chase, double down on WR then grab a Chase Brown/Kaleb Johnson stack later on. RB is risky, Chase is not.

Right, because Chase didn’t miss significant time in 2022….
